The ducks, IMHO, are even cuter than the chicks.
We had ducks for a while also, very messy creatures. How God made an animal so aesthetically beautiful but functionally gross is beyond me. Keep them out of your swimming pool is all I have to add.

These chicks can make a mess quickly.
Doc, the neighbor with the dogs asked about my coop. I offered to build her one.

You are a good guy Kato and a fine neighbor. Good Christian example. I hope they reciprocate your class by paying Buford's vet bills and keeping their dogs out of your yard forever.

I think we may have worked out the dogs. Keeping them out is nearly impossible, but we are getting them trained and then they may turn out to be good dogs. Found out they are still pups. Only a year old.

Now that the girls feel better, I'm sure the baby chickens will receive lots of attention. Thanks for posting the nice photo, Allen.

The chicks were making a big mess of the water and feeder so I doubled the square footage of the brooder box. Now they have alittle more room to move about.
Also got some more done on the coop. I think that I will be moving them in about 2 or 3 weeks.

We did some more work today. Getting closer to full deployment.
The run area is enclosed with the hardware cloth. The finished wall made from pallet lumber. The back side is not quite down. I still need to do some siding and roofing. This rope lowers the trap door ladder. The rope runs over this pulley and down to the door. And the chicks moved out. We got it sealed up and the heat lamp installed.

They have already plucked feathers and understand where their food comes from.
