Oktoberfest is cancelled for 2020. That means I won't gain my usual 10 lbs this October.

Good thing is that the local toll bridge is FREE. I always hated to pay the same fare as cars for my bike and have found every excuse to ride over it. It has been several weeks and I still freaking enjoy it.

I checked out the testing center here and the parking lot only had two cars, probably the people working there. This virus is total BS, probably just a cover up for the 60 GHz to 300 GHz five gee dangers that were realized in all the five gee roll out cities where the "virus" was blamed for massive death.

I'm looking forward to the wave of country songs that will be released about the beer virus era.
"I gotta new job site Monday so I need to download files and plans;
But the internet is clogged up by facebookers and NASCAR fans"
"Ordering a lift kit for my truck made me merry;
But Amazon can't deliver until February"
"I dont know Chinese, but I have time to learn to speak it;
Gas is so cheap, it's a shame we can't drink it"

More Covid-19 Lyrics:
Stopped in Houston for something to refill my flask;
Almost got fined 1,000 bucks, for not wearing a mask;
I went to HomeDepot to get lumber for a new floor;
Sign said, order it on line and we’ll bring it to our front door

Stopped for a Cajun dinner in a Louisiana town,
They said to go eat in Mississippi – we’re under lock down;
I went to the bar to get a whiskey sour,
The sign said closed – enjoy your virtual happy hour!

Stopped in Atlanta to enjoy a cold beer;
They said, pull that mask off – not required here!

Not actually good news, but time will tell. I'm almost certain that my girlfriend and I have the beer bug. There's only been 3 confirmed cases in our county, but the doctors aren't testing unless you have to be hospitalized so..

Heather rides Transit (public buses) because she doesn't drive, so we think that's how she got it. For 10 days she was deathly ill, high fever which just broke yesterday, and all the other symptoms. The doc didn't want her to come in unless she thought she was dying and instead prescribed her some strong antibiotics and told her to take tylenol and drink plenty of pedialyte.

I on the other hand am in day 3 of it and so far my symptoms have been rather mild, possibly because I have O-negative blood. Right now it just seems like a mild chest cold, throat's a little scratchy with some chest congestion. But no headache or fever, maybe a little more coughing than usual, and generally don't really feel sick. Certainly nothing like Heather has been suffering the last 10 days, but I'm only 3 days in so the symptoms may get more severe.

I have warned friends and family members that they probably shouldn't stop by until this passes, but that hasn't stopped cousin Jay and his boy Cash from coming over. He figures he's healthy and it probably would be a good thing if the boy was exposed to it being that children are mildly affected by the virus and then would develop antibodies to it. Which I kind of agree with, as long as he's not exposing others that are in bad health or are up in years.

I'll keep y'all updated if my condition does get worse, and I'm stocked up on food and supplies so I don't have any reason to go around the public. Think I'm gonna take the big quad for a spin in the woods today. 😊

Well this is day 4 for me and day 12 for Heather. This morning her fever is back and it's still kicking her butt. My symptoms have gotten a little worse. I'm coughing more (ribs are sore from it) and producing more phlegm. Still no headache or fever though. A few weeks ago I cut my smoking down to half a pack a day thank goodness, I might just chew nicotine gum until this passes. This is a nasty little bug but I still say it's not worth shutting the country down over it.

Texas will allow eateries and retail stores to open at 25% of permitted occupancy starting Friday. No bars or bowling alleys.
-How do you keep your cafe or store at 25% occupancy? I quess an employee will be posted at the front door to keep count, like a host or hostess. Imagine having a hostess at McDonalds.

I live in a town of 103 people. We are starting to gather socially distanced, in our own lawn chairs, with ice chests. Very cool. I'll send pics....

They began charging again today on our local toll roads. We enjoyed over a month of toll free use during the beer virus. Time to commute on back roads again.

I had to go into the office today to sign a deliverable. One of the big bosses was in the office and told me he was working on plans for employees to safely return to the office in phases (good news). Here are a few of the decisions he was mulling over:
- Do you allow only one person per elevator? (We are in a 10 story office building)
- How do you screen several hundred employees every morning for fever? That could take hours.
- Do you allow only one way traffic in our 5 feet wide halls to prevent employees from meeting in the hall? (The halls make a continuous circuit of each floor)
- seems to me, that there may be too many obstacles to getting work done in that plan. Maybe we should continue to work from home after all.
