Well done Spud. :P

One of the problems with an enduro/motocrosser is there is no lock. I just park the YZF in sight of where we stop if we are in down, and make sure I get a clear shot with a safe backstop. It's hardly ever in a town though.

I don't think I have the option of a factory lock, as I don't think the WR uses one. I like the fork lock idea  . I used on all the time when I lived back East (NJ, NY, CT) 8O .

Nice installation. I may do it someday, although I think the real plan will be to upgrade to a proper off roader rather than a converted racer. But, that's a nearly irresistable mod. :P

You did a great job. Very clean professional work.

Thank you, Doc.

I trimmed a Wesbar 3211, license plate bracket to create the mount for my Trail Tech Vapor computer.

I bought this license plate bracket from the local State Trailer store for $1.99. This bracket is very sturdy, but it is also flexible enough to provide some vibration isolation for the Vapor computer. Here are some photographs of my Vapor installation which also show how I mounted my Tusk D-Flex handguards.

Here's a photograph showing how I install my Master Lock Mini Me U-Bar to the front brake caliper.

I have also ordered a disc lock reminder.

https://www.powersportsuperstore.com...=21&Search.y=4

When installing the lock, you run the reminder cable from the lock's shackle to the clutch lever. The bright orange cable reminds you to unlock the brake caliper before you try to ride away. 8O The cable also advertises the lock's presence to discourage potential thieves from even contemplating stealing the bike.

Here's a side view of Little Red, showing how far the snow has receded up the mountain in just the last week!

Thank you, Doc. I'm very pleased with the installation so far.

My Honda CRF230F ignition switch is scheduled to arrive this afternoon. The wiring will be simple, but I still need to design a mount for the ignition switch. I have also received my LED flasher relay, and my turn signals have been shipped.

I really like the TT Vapor computer. This little Honda likes to rev its engine, and I appreciate having a tachometer on the bike. The digital speedometer is very easy to read under all lighting conditions. I am also pleased to be able to monitor the engine coolant temperatures. Trail Tech is legendary for its excellent customer support. I bought my TT Vapor Computer Kit from OEMCycle for $86.99. I consider that price an excellent value.

MSRP for that unit is $129.99. Trust me, you are not going to get a better deal. Besides, resistance is futile.

That is a great deal. I've never seen them that cheap.

I really want a temp gauge. That's important on a watercooled racebike ridden in sometimes slow conditions in the woods or on tight trails.

I also want a speedometer. Its hard to guess speed when on the street. Although it's rare this bike is on the road I certainly don't want to attract ANY attention by going too fast or too slow. :?

I also like the idea of an odometer. This makes it easier to follow roll charts during a race or calculate MPG to help plan for fuel range and if I need to bring extra gas.

I already have a hour meter but that only cost $1 from China. Works great though!

So......

I bought it. You suck, Spud.

My turn signals have arrived! I will probably start wiring them today.

Enjoy Spud. You are indeed a craftsman.

Maybe you'll swing by and install my Vapor for me?

I'm sure you can handle the Vapor installation; it's not "brain surgery."

This afternoon I removed, inspected, and greased the lower shock linkage on my CRF250X. Apparently, the previous owner greased neither the shock arm/dogbone, nor the lower shock mount of the shock link/rocker/knuckle. He seems to have taken the easy route, and only greased the two rear bearings/bushings of the shock link/rocker/knuckle.

These latter two bearings/bushings were in very good condition. The other two bearings/bushings were in fair condition. Therefore, I cleaned, greased, and re-installed the lower shock linkage.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover replacement bearings/bushings are relatively inexpensive. Therefore, I plan to replace the slightly worn bearings/bushings later this year.

My next task is to replace the fork oil, and grease the triple tree bearings.

I don't know if your link will be similar to the link on my XR250R, but I could not have done that job without a hydraulic press. Does Andy have one? Mine is only good for 12 tons, but it did the trick.
