When you start buying jets stay with Mikuni mains. Keihin and Mikuni use different numbering systems.

Any recommendations from anyone on what replacement speedometer to get to replace the factory? The factory speedo is very inaccurate up at higher speeds after comparing to gps data.

I am seeking advice from others on the easiest installation option. Something hopefully a person can simply plug into the original factory plugs and go.

Any easy installation options?

34 tooth came in and it isn’t a 520. I’m having trouble finding one so I’m going back to a 12 tooth front. The math works out to a .05 difference. I still don’t see how you all are using 5th gear with a 13/32. You all have to be doing interstate speeds.

Mostly doing around town driving and the 13/32 is quite nice.

You are correct, 4th gear gets you up to about 50mph. On other bikes, this is typically 45 mph.

But, on the TBR7, in order to get to 60mph at a reasonable rpm range, this appears to be that middle ground. Its such a low horsepower bike that you have to make some decisions for your preferences.

With the 13/32 I get to 55 in 4th but only to 63 in 5th because I run out of HP not RPMs. I need the 55-60 speed because I have US19 right at the entrance to my subdivision and it is a 6 lane highway with a speed Limit of 55 and everyone does 60. I would get run over at 45 with the original 12/40 setup

428 is more than enough, and you have more gearing options.

Where did you purchase it from? Does it have the LED headlight? Ordered mine from TX Power Sports and its being delivered tomorrow.

Either things are getting back to normal in China supply-wise, or you have a 2020 model?

I believe with the 428 chain, one can use the JT Sprockets JTR269 series of rear sprockets. A good combo with the 428 is 17/44 leaning towards commuting with some light trails. Perhaps better would be 17/45 or 17/46? That is the beauty of the JTR269--they come in 1 tooth increments throughout the 30s and 40s range.

I am so used to Chinese dual-sports coming with 428 chains, I wouldn't know what to do with a 530 or 520??

Extra Storage added to TBR7 if anyone wants ideas. I used the shipping cage metal to fabricate a mounting for it while giving space to still use the original tool kit storage that came with the bike. Pictures and links below if you are interested. The license plate one is a really great idea!

FYI, mine was a 2021 TX Powersports purchase, manufacturered in August 2020 on the VIN plate, came with the LED headlight, flexible LED turn signals, choke cable on handlebar, USB Port on handlebar, folding shift lever, factory keyed helmet lock on frame, small tube storage box, toolkit, rear disk brakes, LED tail light and 530 chain from the factory.
