No, but my guess is a 3.0L. Seems they liked head gaskets. We will see if it hangs out for awhile. No hurry. Time is on my side right now.

Found one that's closer. Only about 25 miles away.

Update on van. Removed all the seats and getting ready to install the fronts into the project van. First we need to take care of the cupholders. No place to put the coffee.

Ugh, ignition cylinders are no fun to install, especially if you solder them in.

Its gone already. My Dad has a 93 Dodge Dakota that I may buy from him. It is mechanically solid with mainly cosmetic challenges.

3.9L 2wd regular cab longbed. Has been used to haul building materials and snowblowers since 1998. Hasn't been out of the garage much in the last few years. He has sold most of his rental properties and this was the truck he used to maintain those. The only house he still rents out is next door to the one they live in.

That sounds like the perfect mid-sized truck.

It has been extremely reliable. Everything still works too. Even the AC.

And the Dakota. Hauling scrap that my Dad had accumulated of the past few years.

I think we just need to repaint the hood and the top of the cab. Tree branch fell on it this past spring and broke the windshield and left some dents in the hood.

The tires were new in 1998. Might need to replace those.

Not yet. I think after Christmas. Its snuggled in the garage now. He pretty much stores it in the winter and rarely drives it during the summer now. The truck has not let town in years.

We took the speedo out and lubed the cable with graphite spray yesterday. We can now just barely hear the aftermarket radio at road speed. Next the radio is getting updated to a 10 year old CD player with alot more watts of power.

Also got the leather seats out of the other van to install. The original driver's seat has broken springs in the behind.

I hacked the pre-amp of the factory cassette deck in my GMC, and soldered in an old headset cable. I plug that into an MP3 player that the kids have tossed aside, and I've got music.
