Well got a little bit done, You can see the sports where the tank bubbled when the temps got in the 90's. So I may repaint and quicksell or search out a red tank.
![]() ![]() ![]() And a quick vid of it down the road, Not very far. Held the camera with my throttle hand ![]() http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...deoid=62038026

If you decide to repaint the tank, may I recommend a flat red instead of a gloss or semi-gloss? Flat just looks right on a dirt bike, and is similar to what the factory offered.

Hard to find that paint, I just took the Honda fender and matched as close as I could to it.......Turns out engine enamel was the best match 8O I am plannig a trip to a bike graveyard...Maybe I'll luck out and snag a tank.

I bet it wanted to be baked on. If you choose to repair the paint and bake it obviously make sure the tank is dry and free of any fumes.

I have not baked since I was a teen 8O ![]() It's the low temp stuff to make engines perty no bake needed. It's this plastic tank that was in such bad shape that no matter how I paint it it will bubble. I knew the paint was a long shot and our first real hot day forced it through. I could have refinished it bye scraping the bad layer off with a razor blade but it was not the color I wanted for the bike :( SO I chose paint....I chose wrong  Oh well maybe I will put a few more bucks into it....But I have about 175 bucks in it right now. The tank would be another 60 or more used. I want to either sell it for 400 or trade it. If I sell it I am eating into profits by putting more money into a bike that is not worth much :? Boy I really rambled there ![]()

I would let it go as-is. The tank is functional and most kids are not going to care.

I am picky, I hate things not looking good. Bad trait of mine. If I sell her it will look nice when I do

Loved this post, I know I'm kind of late on it, but the bike looks great! Brings back memories of a buddy's XR75 when we were young un's. Gotta love flashbacks!
