Nice! Thanks for taking us along on this swap. Does that spare alternator work?

As far as I know. Was a running Navigator before the accident.

Drove it 55 miles today with no issues. Still need some tires tho.

Oh yeah, the intake manifold runner valve thing seems to have no ill issues. Truck rarely sees over 3000 rpm anyway in normal driving, so I didn't even notice anything weird. Also, has plenty of power, no Check engine lights, no weird surging, starting hard or etc.

Thanks for reporting on the intake; I was just going to ask how that worked out. From here, fuel economy will tell the rest of the story.

I've worked as a professional mechanic for years. But since 2012, haven't had access to a lift, or, any kind of shop. So, on my back in my carport it is... ibuprophen is my friend... it's surprising what a person can do even without the fancy gadgets. Just takes longer.

2 years ago I did a 2001 Chrysler minivan engine swap. And last summer, the engine in my Jeep came out, and back in. So, this wasn't new to me, but definitely more massive.

Truck has 150 miles since swap. I got a set of stock rims and tires and am putting them on today, as well as a front brake job and a possible cv axle boot.

Swapped out my bling wheels for a set of stock ones, 17". Put pads on front brakes. Found out that I need at least 1 front wheel bearing, 1 ball joint and the drag link. More work and more parts, but kinda figured it on account of the 235k miles it has.

Truck with its 'new' rims, and about 150 miles on it since engine was installed.

Today I de redneckified it (I mean no disrespect to rednecks - gloriously unsophisticated. I sometimes is one...) by removing not one, but several security/alarm/cbradio/amplifier/ siren and wiring rats nest that was under the dash. Always easy to uninstall. Find the main wire that's been clipped, and butt connect it back together. I hate those systems. This thing has factory antitheft and chipped key anyway so not sure of the purpose... always makes me feel better. Can't do any better than simplifying anything that's aftermarket back to stock. There's a cd changer behind the rear seat that needs to go away too. Missing the cartridge and wires poking up from under the carpet. All the rage of the early 2000's.

Oh yeah, and while I was there under the dash, looked at my coded door key sticker, and sure enough, even tho the door is smashed, the coder still works! Cool Beans!

Over 200 miles now. No issues. Gonna sell my Jeep to pay some bills and then fix the door and etc on the truck. I really don't need both vehicles. Really liking the truck. Got the paperwork in to DMV for plates and title.

I've owned approximately 90 vehicles in my lifetime (actually over 100 if I count the motorcycles) and have rebuilt/restored/re-purposed most of them. I love it. I really enjoy feeling of satisfaction that comes with another successful project completed. Maybe a tiny bit of what God felt like on the 7th day...

My most ambitious project was probably the time I took a 2 wheel half ton Dodge pickup and converted it to 4x4 3/4 ton pickup. Cutting the front suspension rivets off the 1/2 ton frame was a pretty scary experience. No going back, for sure...

also, my body off frame restoration of my 1945 GPW/ Willys Jeep was a pretty cool experience.

This one is the newest, so, right now was the most fun. Can't wait to get the door fixed, the new suspension in, new carpet, and seat repair. Will be awesome!

I guess that's it! Blessings to all! Lance
