I'm not sure about the TT250 because mine has yet to arrive BUT...historically speaking, CB's munch up speedo cables due to complete lack of lubricant. It's been a big problem in the past with not just Hondoids, but also Q Links (Suzuki-type) have also had this problem.
My suggestion after checking routing would be to pull the cable from the sheath, clean it, then lube it with some good grease. I do this as annual maintenance. It's super easy and just takes minutes. Pull the cable sheath from the bottom mount and then just slide out the cable.

When my TT arrives, it's going right on the rack and I'm going to do it when I change the fork oil.

Pinched Speedo Cable

Not sure if this is the culprit or not but with all the talk of broken speedo cables I took a look at mine. I discovered what looks to be a little kink in the cable where it routes by the lower triple clamp and fender. I suspect this is related to where the ratchet straps are routed when the bike is strapped into the shipping crate. I don't know if this is the cause of the speedo cable issues on other bikes but it may be something you guys want to check out.

My speedo is still working fine. I'll be pulling and lubing my cable later.

looks like a potential failure point from fatigue in the future.
mine failed right where it goes from hard pipe to flex line on the back of the speedometer.

I'm now legal!!!!

A little delay due to the long holiday weekend but I did get the TT registered in Colorado. My county can be a little more "by the book" than other Colorado counties so registration was not without some extra steps i.e. VIN verification, a bunch of pics to verify specs, EPA stickers, street legal equipment, etc. and submission to the State for approval. Although not as bad as getting the RX3 approval and registration.

Hm, and you ordered late April... I ordered at the end of March, so I guess I can hope to see my bike coming soon too! I've tried not to call them for fear I'd end up buying an RX3 out of impatience.

Oh, and Joe's blog updated today saying that they're ramping up production. Hurrah! My wife is getting sick of me talking about how excited I am for the bike to come. She's probably more ready than I am for it to be delivered just so she can have some peace and quiet!

Did you order a black one? There are a lot of black ones in that photo on the latest blog post. http://californiascooterco.com/blog/?p=21637

Maybe one of those is yours?

So great to see the tt finally getting into circulation. Seems like now is not the time to let our guard down thinking that csc will cover all the bases. These are still China bikes subject to the same issues we see in other China makes. These are brand new production models from zong. so they are going to have their issues. Check them close !

Thanks for the blog link, I think that Starbucks will drive more foot traffic to csc and will be beneficial to both business'.

I hope for the best for csc, still fantasizing about the rx4

I ordered mine in late February and haven't heard anything....but again, I'm in no big hurry.
The sooner I get that "magic email", the sooner I have to pay for it! ;-)
As long as CSC is quiet, I'll spend the money on a new shed while I wait!
