New Zongshen RX3 (ZS250GY-3) Dual Sport

Unlike bearings with free needles, the needles in these bearings are encased in a sleeve. Looking at the central groove and hole in the exterior of the bearing, I wonder if one could install grease zerks on the RX3 swingarm?

Looks like installing zerks would be easy enough, just have to line them up with the groove. My favorite design is the one used on the Honda CX/GLs. No long bolt as a pivot, of course that wouldn't work on a shaft drive bike, but big tapered roller bearings on each end.

Incidentally, the fork service information on pages 30-31 of the owner's manual is for conventional forks, which is not correct. I'm pretty sure the 37mm, USD forks of the RX3 are constructed similarly to the 37mm, USD forks of my Zongshen Sierra. Therefore, most of the information in the following thread should also apply to the Zongshen RX3 forks.

I agree. The swingarm should be removed, cleaned, and inspected every 10,000 miles or so. Nevertheless, I can't see any downside to installing grease zerks on the swingarm.

Does anyone recall if CSC is going to rebrand the RX3 or will it be badged as Zongshen? If Zongshens plan is a global market, controlling the brand is critical to success. Good to see the spread into Canada. I presume CSC is the importer.

I read the post, but the writer doesn't specify whom he spoke with.

I called them up earlier today and they said it is going through Canadian approval stuff very soon... so could be all done in the new year !

The Transport Canada process is a big deal, so it'll be quite an achievement for Zongshen. It makes perfect sense that their products should be sold in Canada, since they're located in Vancouver.

This new bike, the RX3, has the potential to give Zongshen a huge boost in opening up new markets. It's such a good package of features. Of course, in the US, some are saying the displacement is too small. As an old timer that started riding at eight years off road, I find that a 250 like this might be about the perfect bike for me. We don't ride two up any more, since my wife took up riding scooters years ago. I live on the big island of Hawaii, where there are no freeways, and the main highways are posted 50-55 mph. We have lots of dirt and gravel roads here to ride.
But, I would be concerned, should I get one, about the lack of dealers. What would I do with any warranty issues? We have an independant motorcycle repair shop in Hilo. They have a policy of not working on Chinese built bikes.
So, I'd be on my own.

I remember reading somewhere that CSC does not plan to rebadge the motorcycle. I think this is a good decision.

I don't know if the rumor is true. If true, I don't know whether Zongshen PEM, or CSC Motorcycles plans to introduce the bike to Canada.
