Many of the motocross racing bikes have a piston with a single compression ring, which facilitates operating at high rpms. However, most non-racing engines have pistons with two compression rings, which reduces contamination of the engine oil from combustion gasses, and increases the life of the piston rings. The Zongshen RX3 has a piston with two compression rings.

Thanks for the update, Expat. I'm glad the RX3 is scheduled to arrive in Peru sometime in November, instead of next year.

That's encouraging!

Now I just need to figure out what to do until then...

Grass to cut. Chickens to feed. Mowers to fix. (Grass still growing) Trees to cut. Way to many projects in the shop. Need to build another chicken coop. Fix the outside chicken run. Pet the dog. That should keep me busy until it arrives.

Don't forget to pet Buford the Cat.

Joe Berk and Susie are making the rounds at the motorcycle shows. Here is my favorite photograph of a young lady trying the RX3 on for size at San Mateo.

You can see other photos at the CSC blog.

In his Patagonia motorcycle consideration thread, Expat informed us there is a white Zongshen RX3 available for sale in Lima, Peru. He might be making a trip over there to inspect, and possibly purchase that motorcycle.

ZongShen RX3 Manual

So I have my RX3 and love it, love everything about it. The only issue I have is this. My Chinese manual! Can someone PLEASE direct me to a pdf manual or something or if you have one in English can you maybe scan the thing? I desperately need this. Having a bike with no manual is just not a good thing.

Do you have an owner's manual? When I bought my Zongshen ZS200GY-2, I received both an owner's manual, and a service manual.
