No, Recracer understands what I want. I'm looking for a centrifugal clutch instead of a manual clutch. My Dad had a hand injury many years ago that cost him a finger, and it's difficult for him to clutch when it is cold outside. I could solve that with a centrifugal clutch.

HB, do you know of anything like that on TB?

They were not willing to chat about it . dismissed right away with we have no EPA. I like your idea of auto clutch for your dad , Also makes me wonder why trail riders like auto clutches . may be hard to confirm a fit .http://www.alibaba.com/product-detai...134105163.html

Trail riders love 'em because they don't need to constantly clutch at low speeds when crawling over stuff. As well, the absence of a clutch lever allows you to add a supplementary rear brake lever, tied into the rear caliper. You can then put both knees up on the seat for crossing rivers and creeks.

Ok, after I hit refresh enough times, I got past the login screen. Does anybody have any theories about the clutch basket with the spring on the back side? I'm guessing those are just for smooth take-off with heavy loads. I doubt that it's an automatic clutch.

I agree. I think they're intended for the three-wheeled Lifan pickups, to ease the takeoff when hauling a heavy load. Makes me wonder if there would be a benefit on a DS.
