Funny thing about CA....those who have never been here love to poke fun at it from rumors they've heard and the slanted nightly news that only reports the worst or the weird. Those who left here did for a reason (usually money or lack of employment) and those of us who stay, realize that the beautiful terrain, close ocean, great riding, outdoor sports (camping, hiking, hunting and fishing) and great weather is worth the BS. Like I say, every state has their good and bad and we all deal with our own BS where we're from. Many (probably like Swampy here) will run just north or the border into Oregon with their retirement checks in hand. Similar weather, much cheaper living and close family in CA to visit.....and Oregon loves the money flooding in. I've been all over the continental 48 and I can tell you this. Seems everywhere I've been, if it's not raining, it's snowing, if it's not snowing, it's windy as hell, and if the wind stops, it turns into a freaking sauna! I'll keep my weather thanks.

My atv has the same Kandi frame as yours with the almost the same plastics. Mine had the 200cc in it though. . Here is my build. I'm about to update it.

Gage, I remember reading your posts before I bought mine, your son looks to be eating the quad riding up. Heck, I think I went through all the posts to the first page!
Our quads do appear to have a lot in common. Not brother and sister related but more like cousins. The steering brackets and bushings appear to be the same. There is a zerk on the lower bushing but not the upper one on mine. How much up and down play do you have in the steering shaft? I had mine elevated on the trailer and could move it about 1/4th of an inch and thinking about tightening it up.

Nice pair of quads, Swampy! I'll be interested to hear how the brands compare over time for durability, reliability, etc.
Completely agree on how states have become leeches with their taxes, fees & permits, for minimal to no added value.

My big curiosity is to see the difference in the GY6 motors. It seems the cases from quad brand to quad brand are different on the same motor. Example, Kandi to Coolster. They both share a GY6 but they appear different on the side cases. Just guessing, I'd imagine it's motor manufacturer. I wonder who makes which ones?

Just a non-riding update.
I have been slammed with my youngest son’s school activities, house projects, fishing and normal day to day “life” getting in the way of getting these out . At least they have a nice cover to keep them out of the weather! I will get them out and post what I think about them. I can tell you that they start and go in forward and reverse real good……..

I can appreciate that. I haven't ridden my quads in a long time, but this will be the year.

nice atv's but I have one question...if you own a grizz why did you order a cb for yourself?
don't get me wrong I love messing around on my cb 250 sport but the grizz gets priority riding from this guy.

I love the Grizz and we use it quite a bit. It was a hand me down from my Dad. In the past I have done a lot of trail riding with my wife riding the Grizz while my youngest son and I rode our dirt bikes. He outgrew his TT125, I decided I could part with my TT350 and I figured two more quads were in order so we could all ride together again. Couldn’t see shelling out the cash for two more Grizz plus there was no way I could haul three of those beasts together with my truck and trailer. With LZ2s assistance and lots of research I settled on the Kandi’s. My son and I will fight over who gets to use the Grizz, LOL!
