Hate to quote myself but does it? On FI bikes the battery is a big deal when it comes to working right! It’s one of those easy to do things making sure the battery is fully charged. My thought again…

Engine Problems Update
Hey you guys thanks for all the help and advice you all provided I finally loosened my valves changed my oil new spark plug and wire trace and charged battery and FINALLY got it started
I think is was the valves they had no give no gap no room and no play AT ALL it's still reading the three codes and now it was this ticking noise and I'm not getting as much power or speed I also had oil leaking out of the gear box part I take off with a flat head to get to TDC like profusely It's running but how can I get it back to mint condition and top performance Ps new TS is 55

Hey Pharaoh.
Have you figured out the rest of the problems you are having? I am glad you were able to get the bike started again. The ticking noise is possibly from a valve being TOO loose. If you didn't do your valve adjustment with feeler gauges, then things can be too tight or too loose and will cause certain symptoms, its very very difficult to eyeball such an adjustment. As for the oil coming out of the gear box, there could be a rubber o ring that you damaged somehow in the process. I am glad the bike runs though. Good luck! |

That's not the gearbox, that is the stator cover, and oil will come out of there. It's designed to have oil inside the stator cover so the starter sprag bearing on the flywheel and all of the gears for the starter gear reduction, and their bearings, get oil.
That said, you have WAAAAAAY too much oil in your engine if it's pouring out like that. The engine holds a bit over 1 quart. That's it.

Pharaoh, the bike needs to be off the kickstand and held straight up for checking oil level. You also have a site glass besides the dipstick and it should be about middle. Agree that that is way to much oil…my thoughts!

Your saying you have to hold the red button to keep the bike running? If so it sounds like the switch needs to be replaced. I not at home right now but I’m thinking your talking the fuel pump or on/off switch in other words?

Here is my list smh ♂️
Sorry I put so much on you guys but this is my first bike and I'm new to this but I love riding and what to keep riding I do have electrical problems or a bad battery because the neutral light will not always illuminate It also shuts off at red lights like it's too hot or something and it's the red button you're right I think it's orange or yellow but it's the start button, I have to hold down to get it going almost like a cold start if it had a carburetor And sometimes the gear bar feels like it stuck after riding it a while I know I'm probably annoying you guys I really do appreciate you but I honestly just want the best at my bike without having to worry so much about it breaking down if I take it on trips or anything It's still pretty new with only 3,000 miles on it and I got it at 80 miles so please help and thank you for all of your input and advice

It sounds to me like you have a bad connection somewhere. I would check the connectors behind the headlight and make sure nothing came unplugged and/or no wires are broken. Also check the connectors under the left cover where the battery is situated.
