RP oil in a bike, never done it myself with a "wet clutch system"
But their Fuel System additive is some strong stuff... not Redline SI 1 strong, but still potent stuff... I think I was using close to half the RP recommended dose with similar cleaning results as full strength

Rotella T 15w40 diesel oil is my go to. I've been running it a little over 10 years. I have yet to need to replace a clutch. My valve adjustments seem to go longer without needing an adjustment. It may be because I set my valve lash on the loose end of the tolerances.

Hello (again) Everyone
Bringing everyone up to date with the adventures with the SG250, have had a busy few weeks which has not allowed the motorcycle time I would have preferred, now back to a more normal life schedule. It was time for the oil change at 788 Km. Just under 500 miles. This is one of the easiest oil changes I have ever done. removed drain plug, let drain. Remove screen filter for cleaning. Nothing! The screen filter was spotless. I was expecting little bits of anything but nothing. The valves were easy to check. And adjust. While Oil was draining did a few other little things. The neutral light had become intermittent. Found a pin had backed out of the connector which hides inside the headlight shell. In fact while there found a total of four pins that were coming out of the connectors for the wire harnesses. Something to keep in mind, check the connectors for pins that are not fully inserted. Another helpful hint, when removing the seat loosen the nuts at the top of the shock mounts. Seems the rail that surrounds the seat is the tight fit and loose shock bolts let the seat just slip up and out easily. Your experience may differ. All for now Arthur |

SG Seat
Please speak with Joey at CSC.
My memory is that I pulled the seat hard. |

Hello (again) Everyone
Have not done the riding on the SG 250 that I would have liked the past few weeks. Winter and cold and all that. And most recently had the snow storm, 15 to 18 inches. In central Virginia that is a lot of snow. Because of snow had a couple of days where I did not leave the house. One of the projects to keep me occupied was my SG250. Which I am still very happy with. Thought I would share the results with you. Mine is the mocha color, the smoothest riding color, and I thought the grey and black seat could use some changes. Had some brown vinyl, one thing leads to another and this is the result. Got to get out more??? Thankfully weather is somewhat warmer for the moment. If I could figure out the sidecar projects so as to avoid falling over when on ice might have done that instead. Then I would have been riding during the snow storm. Oh well! The very best to everyone for the Christmas holiday. |

Does SG250 come with identical engine as Cleveland Misfit?
If that's the case, I was wondering if Cleveland Misfit performance parts would fit SG250. https://clevelandspeedshop.com/collections/misfit-gen-i Here are some examples; Air Filter Big Bore Forged Piston Big Bore Cylinder Exhaust Kit Performance Head Kit Pilot Jet Kit NGK Performance Plus & Wire DID Chain & Sprocket Combo |

Don't get your hopes up on the big bore cylinder and piston or the head, they have been unavailable for over a year now because they stopped producing them. The rest of that stuff you can find elsewhere for cheaper, with exception to the pilot jet, which interestingly enough is the same style pilot jet the Hawk comes with. (stock is a 40).

Insurance for sg250
Hey guys. I just got my sg250 Friday. I called progressive to insure it and they could only give me liability coverage on it. They said they cant put comp and collision on it due to it not being a regular make. Has anyone had these issues and has anyone had any luck with any of the insurance companies getting full coverage on these bikes? If so, which companies?

Due to this being winter and too long between the nice riding days nothing to report. My SG250 has been the garage queen for too long. Had to do something. Since these are cafe racers some sort of fairing or windscreen seemed appropriate. Between eBay and Amazon found a few ideas. Here is the result.
Based on the few rides since, can not tell any difference in speed. But it looks faster. Will admit, if this was the exotic motorcycle would be reluctant to make these changes. Being affordable china rides feel more inclined to make these changes. This has been fun and creative. And it looks faster! Anyone have any thoughts? Other ideas? Opinions? Thanks Arthur (at least I look fast) |

That jet kit for the CCW looks to be the "oddball" pilot jet for the Hawk as they are somewhat an orphan carb/PZ30
That is interesting if CCW sell a jet etc for Hawk owners not wanting/needing to spend money on a new carb |
