To the best of my knowledge, I don't believe that this has been a problem with our carbureted friends. I wonder if the tight exhaust valves are causing a brief lean condition that the EFI isn't adjusting to in time?

What I can say when mine would cut out is that restarting was tough. LOTs of cranks and found that I had to twist the throttle to finally get it to start. Both when mine was a cold or hot cutout

The frustrating part is that when we bought both RX3's, of course, I was super-anal, adjusted the valves, went over every possible wire, connector, iridium plug, etc....and it does occasionally stall (less the more I ride it). it also has always taken a few cranks to get it fired.
My brother!? He hasn't even washed the damn thing yet and it fires right up and has never stalled even once! WTH?!

Tutorial from CSC on the some things to look at if you are experiencing the stalling issue.
http://californiascooterco.com/blog/?p=24180 As usual with CSC, they are being proactive when dealing with persistent and /or sometimes inconsistent problems with the RX3 rather than brush it off or sweep it under the rug. Rojo

I agree. They are seriously on top of listening and taking action. I haven't had a stalling problem, but I am interesting in this whole colder plug recommendation thing. I understand heat ranges and the general idea, just not totally clear on how it correlates to our bikes, the pro's and con's of it. Maybe someone can explain?
And if someone got my hint , pretend like you are explaining it to a dolphin. |

I have done almost everything on that blog so far. I have not put a new fuel injector or fuel filter. The bike doesn't have 8,000 miles. But I guess we can just try to change them both out and call it good. Seriously, thanks Rojo for sharing the blog here. |

I did, but changed the filter first, and it was still dying at idle, installed the new injector next and it seems to be fixed....but I haven't ridden it a lot since installing it...just gotten to ride to work a couple times, due to winter weather...rode it today....
