I can't keep my hands off the Hawk when the sun is shining. Whether I should or shouldn't is always an afterthought.

The property we ride on down there is owned by the coal mines. during the summer its very dense with a few well-worn trails but right now it's wide open. I want to go roam around down there some more but the mud and my constitution are preventing it right now.

It was beautiful out on Christmas day. I had family visitors in and out all day long so I didn't really get to enjoy it. I took a quick ride in my neighborhood at dusk just to get one in. Warm enough to be comfortable in sweats and Crocs on the bike.

Grin

It was 38 degrees out, but the sun was peeking out. I thought, "if the hawk will start without kicking it, I'll ride." Well, below 40 degrees the Hawk really doesn't like to start using the battery. So, I kicked it, got it started and then promptly let it stall and then flooded it trying to kick it again. Jeez o weez. Old age sucks, completely winded and drenched in sweat, I ended up flipping it the bird and covering it up and going inside to cozy up to my kitty and watch 1883.

Until another day, then the Hawk will spread its wings and commence to vibrating my old bones to dust as I scurry down the road in search of my lost youth.

that last bit was kind of poetic. . .

It's freezing cold outside; the wind last night completely destroyed the cheap Amazon bike cover I was using. It's shredded. I went out in this freezing snow and pulled the battery out of the bike, then brought it inside. I am going to let it warm up and then take the bike over to my son-in-law's to store her for the rest of the season. I am pretty much within walking distance of everything I could possibly need, and the Hawk... well, she needs a rest.

-2 and dropping for the Chiefs/Dolphins game in KC tonight. That's even colder than a Chiefs/Raiders game a few years ago. Layered up for that, but it is predicted to drop to -9 throughout the game, and there is a 15mph wind. NO ONE will be happy on that field!!!!!

Bikes are parked indefinitely. And too cold to even work on them in the garage

KC also. It's colder than I like. But I don't really like cold at all so I'm ready for hibernation. I don't know how you folks farther north even survive.
