The choke cable has arrived
I'm hoping more items show up in time before Christmas.
But I think I'm going to wait till the 24th and wrap whatever shows up.
I know she will be excited for parts for her bike

This thing is nice. I know it's just a choke cable. But it's quality

I also ordered a rear brake lever for her bike
Cheapest one I could find. Still felt I was getting burnt a little though lol

I still need a couple more odds and ends to get the rear brakes complete. But I can probably come up with stuff in my misc bins for them

I can't wait till everything is here. And get started on training wheels too

That's a decent price for a genuine Yamaha lever.

Another piece of the puzzle has arrived
I hope the carb makes it for Christmas
But she will be excited either way

I always thought these were plastic
But again same as with the choke cable
I'm extremely impressed with the quality of this valve

I was looking at using the same valve on a quad project, but I'd need some measurements. Please tell me the hose barb sizes on the inlet and outlet. Thanks.

Battery's in my calliper were dead so used a tape

Looks like 3/8 in and 1/4 out

Thanks Dave. I was hoping for 1/4" in and 3/16" out, so I could use it on my quad. I'm surprised that the valve for that little PW uses a 3/8" hose!

I have one in my parts bin. I think it's 1/4 - 1/4
It's not the same lay out. I'll try to get a pic tonight

That's very kind of you, but I need 1/4 - 3/16. The tank fitting on my quad is 1/4, and the carb is 3/16; I already have a 1/4 - 1/4 on the way.

Well the main piece I was waiting for has arrived. I'll still put off wrapping it all as I am still waiting for a brake lever. But if that doesn't make it I'm still happy

I think I'll open it up and inspect before installing on the bike. And I want to get a vaccume line cap for the oil inlet. As oil system is removed from this bike and we run premix

And weld I was in the yard and dug it out anyways. It's actually 3/16 - 3/16

Well. Haven't been turning any wrenches yet
But my brains constantly working on bikes lol

I was thinking if the carb doesent fix the problem in gunna try a new set of reeds ebay has power reeds for 18 bucks

I'm also on the hunt for a kick stand for this bike now.
I know I'm putting training wheels on the bike but they will be comming off eventually
And the way I've made this bike to be. I need to finish it lol

Hey great thread. I love this little bike.

The balance bike is most certainly the way to go, my eldest struggled for ages trying to do peddling and balancing at the same time, we got a balance bike for my youngest who was still 2 years old and let the older one use it (he's was 5) within a week he got it sussed without even realizing. The youngest didnt take that long either and was having his first goes at starting and stopping on his minimoto just before his 4th birthday. We found open space was the key to helping them relax without fear of crashing into stuff, pedal bikes and motor bikes. Small indoor kart tracks held them both back but going outdoors seemed to release them a bit.

If you had a gentle hill that would keep the pw rolling at say walking/jogging pace it could be worth letting her have a go on it as a balance bike without the engine running to get a feel for the handling. Both my two dragged their feet at first so they didnt have to do the full balancing thing.
