A friend cleaned his shop and gave me an old winch. Cable had come off drum and bound up. I loosened the brackets and got the cable sorted. Seems to work! Is a 2 speed 6000/12000 from a company out of Oregon who went out of business in the 1990’s.

Does it have a freewheel device?

It does indeed freewheel for easy pulling out of the cable.

Waiting for driver seat cover (oem) and that will help the interior a lot. Meanwhile, been driving with no issues so far.

Busy Saturday. Installed the fifth wheel rails and fixed the electrical plug. Did a junk yard run for odds and ends. Removed the seat and took it apart in preparation for the new seat cover which came in.

Hope all are hunkered down and staying virus free. We are. Truck is mostly sorted. Had once incident when it wouldn’t start but the terminal on the starter was corroded. Then, got my bro in laws rototiller (Troy Bilt Jr) and have completely gone through it and hopefully getting it running today. Had many many years of use and neglect. But, fundamentally is good, and, very well built! I’m impressed with the quality.

Roto tiller part way. Through the reassembly and new engine installed. Old engine, Tecumseh, Had thrown a rod through the side of the block. Also, gearbox needed shimmed and, oil was milky white with water.

I find that a ventilated block leaks out horsepower. Good thing you swapped engines.

This carnage is mostly for weldangrind. Here’s photos of the blown up rototiller original engine.
