I'm not really mechanical, but will mounting the engine on that angle cause any problems? (oil pan, pump, etc)?

Probably. I just mounted it up for sh-ts and gigs. No real intention of getting it running as is. I am finished with the Madass and removed the new engine to put in the CT clone. Waaaaaay too many electrical problems and no more ambition to work through them anymore. Selling the frame and moving on to something else. Thank you to everyone that contributed advice to this project while it lasted.
Funny thing I have realized though, working on this bike. It seems to me that practically every Chinamade engine has the same exact mount pattern. Believe it or not, the 200 slid right in, almost like it was supposed to go in there. |

I might be able to help you through the electrical issues.
I really don't know about that angle. With a wet sump it may cause oil circulation problems.

It's too bad you aren't finishing this, you sparked my interest in these, I could see myself zipping around town on one of these. Looks like they're not available in Canada currently.

Yeah, they're available in Canada, but under the name AMG Nitro. Miin has one for sale, and there might still be a couple at CR Cycle in Maple Ridge.

Oh ok, I went to http://madass.ca/ and it said they weren't I guess I didn't search enough... I wonder if they are properly street legal?

I don't know what happened to my Photobucket account. I'm temporarily locked out of it? The picture was of a 200cc Lifan vertical engine stuck in the Madass frame. It was a bit crooked though, at a really unnatural angle. I'll upload it again as soon as I can.
I really wish I wasn't giving up on it, but I have wayyy too much money into it as of late. I suppose I will probably hang on to the frame and continue this project when I have more funds/time. Or I may sell it and buy a used, running Madass later on. I don't know yet. It would be nice if I was capable of doing my own electrical work, too. Those are sweet looking bikes! They have a minimalist and yet practical look to them. Cool concept! I would hang onto the frame if I was you and perhaps you will get back to it later on. Doesn't take up much room anyway

That's really cool! I'm amazed that the mounts have the same spacing; I'd quickly fab a triangulated adapter to mount that badness.
Like Stew says, it doesn't take up much room. You could likely hang it on the wall.
