That's a good looking bike. Have you ridden it on the highway much? Was just curious how it would do on paved top speed wise. I saw one video online that got up to 71MPH on pavement.

Haven't wanted to push it too hard yet!
After its broke in I will GPS the top speed. It's advertised as 74mph. I did hit 70 for a brief moment the other day.

Taking it out this weekend for a good shakedown run.

Any ideas what sprockets you have on it? I think my RX3 (same motor) has a 13/and whatever stock is. 45 maybe?
I can cruise at highway speed but it's still hummin' with that 13 the front. Came stock with a 14.

I look forward to seeing how it turns out, looks like the fit and finish is pretty top notch for such an inexpensive bike, not to mention a lot of upgrades! Could turn out to be quite the little enduro, especially if it has the same engine as the RX3.

Not verified, but the PPro website says 13/49, as does the parts order manual.

Now with verification!

Decided to check the sprocket situation out as we have already seen that some of the specs on Pitster's page are off.

Turns out the front is a 13 tooth!

BUT, rear is a 51;

While we're measuring stuff...

Pitster LXR250 front forks measure about 47mm ; tough to hold tablet, micrometer, get focus and push camera button all at once, so forgive the quality here:

The housing of the front forks just below the top triple clamp are 53mm :

Rear Spring Rate

Here is a picture of the rear spring rate. It says "FastAce 300lbs/in".

300 lb/in = 5.3 kg/mm

A little light for my heft... looking at my old Honda and perusing Racetech on bikes with similar geometry I should be looking for a 6.0 kg/mm or 336 lb/in spring rate.

In my experience getting the rear spring rate right makes more difference than all the tuning you can do on the wrong spring will ever make.

Its dirt embedded in the chain grease/oil (very thick). Looks like the wear guard is chunking a little and some of it is the plastic bits. The picture makes it look metallic, but when I wiped it off it didn't have any metal in it. I do remember why I like o-ring chains...

Desert tank ordered.

Pulled the trigger on an oversized tank. 4 gallons is necessary for some of our longer trips... 5 gallons if we get lost. Which is the normal way things go down.

I'm hoping it will fit this bike; if it does I will post the part number and manufacturer. Right now I'm taking a chance.

Was the drain plug a wee bit on the tight side ?

Every bolt I have touched on this bike have been way too tight!

It was an effort to get that out- I used a Wera socket set, which is german made and the best sockets I own. Nearly pulled the bike over getting it out.
