I changed the coolant and the oil and serviced the air filter after work today. They we went for a sunset/victory ride in the hills behind my house. It was much nicer but the iPhone does not capture the colors of the sunset on the hills very well.

I'm glad that you recognize that. Your backdrops are always stunning.

That's a nice sunset, Doc. Today the high temperature reached 59 degrees Fahrenheit here in Idaho! I am going to add some more photos to my current ride report.

A friend pointed that out to me recently. Today the high temperature reached 59 degrees Fahrenheit here in Idaho! I am going to add some more photos to my current ride report. Can't wait Brother Spud! Was this ride the KDX or the Zong?

That's what I was thinking. This calls for a smokeshow video!

I don't know Spud, I think you might have fun...
Just don't do it too long, you'll get melted rubber all over the bike. Don't ask...

Ack. I just spent even MORE money on this bike
I had to though. I already have tinnitus from decades of riding so I ALWAYS wear earplugs now for any slightly loud activity, even driving my convertible. Even with earplugs though the FMF Powercore 4 really hurts my ears :( . I repacked it (PIA) and it made no difference. It's a very old model so no quiet inserts are available. I called the tech people at FMF even. So I sprang $325 for a new FMF Q4. My hearing is worth it. The Power Core 4 on the bike is in excellent condition maybe I can eBay it and recoup a bit of my money.

Nice Bike Doc been some good reading and pics....Takes me back when I bought an old 84 Suzuki RM 465...omg that thing was a beast..picked it up for $100 cause the people whom I bought it from bought it for a 12 year old..........no rear brakes little front brakes needed an correct spark plug and carb cleaning.....invested $50 in brakes and plug....rode it for a month and sold it for $400...but this 2 stroke was mean...It would throw a rooster tail in every gear....and ya had to sit up on the tank to keep it under control....I really had some fun on that bike...til a buddy came over...and offered me $400 for it....I thought Id better before I killed myself on it....lol.........
Have fun....I like my mild powered Suzuki DR 650. |

There's a lot to be said for a motorcycle that does not want to turn around and et your face. Plus that DR will do things the YZ never would. Like ride to work. Carry a passenger. Go 50,000 without being rebuilt (multiple times  )
