Winter is officially here

I had one of my girlfriends over yesterday and after a particularly vigorous afternoon workout I opened the window beside the bed to cool off. Well then we ordered a pizza and cracked open a fifth of Beam and watched both Deadpool movies before calling it a night.

Woke up at 6am freezing our tushies off. It got down to 12° lastnight and I had forgot to turn on the heat AND close the window! It was miserable cold in the cabin and the water lines had froze. She wouldn't climb out from underneath the covers till the furnace ran for a solid hour, and the water lines just now thawed out.

The horses don't care for the cold either, all 4 are in the shed trying to stay warm. But my sister had the good sense to put blankets on them and gave them a double ration of grain lastnight, and put a heat lamp in the chicken coop.

You could easily have a 100 degree difference between the northern states and Southern FL or Texas on the same day.
