Once you weld them in your done. You have to live with it. I think it a design to be able to replace the studs in case of sheer off.

The design is quite good, and is borrowed from Honda. Those studs sit in bushings, and the entire assembly is meant to have some give upon engaging the clutch. It saves wear and tear on the chain, sprockets and you.

I should have added that the setup is commonly referred to as a cush drive.

I wonder if my new hub is cush? It has bolts not pins. But the bolts bolt up to inserts in the hub that can move kind of like the pins.

Took pictures of it. This is really the only good one.
Went out tonight to grease the front axle (my God did it need it) of all things and.... of course this is where I ended up. Front axle greased, swing arm greased, coilover greased, I tried my best to clean the chain with what I had available bu it'd didn't wok so great, cleaned the front wheel, wiped the gunk off the motor/frame/swingarm. I went a lot deeper into this than I thought I would. Still waiting on my JT rear 45t sprocket to be delivered to the amazon seller so they can send it to me. Only ordered it a month ago. They are supposed to receive it on the 15th. It'll probably be delayed ANOTHER two weeks. |

I lathered up my swing arm bolt with silver anti seize. Made a huge difference in ride quality. I like the anti seize for stuff like this. It sticks to anything and seems to be impervious to water etc.
