Mrs.Mini was concerned when I decided it was time to get out while I was still healthy and had my wits about me. I had to promise her I'd flip burgers or welcome shoppers or something, if my going out early left us short. Best damn decision of my life when I walked out of work the last day, almost nine years ago.....and I LIKED the people I worked with!

So I set of deadline of Sept 15 for a reply from corporate to my three post Oct. 31 options. I padded these with lots o'cash so the powers that be may be choking about now.

As I told them, you need me more than I need you.

I was yelling at clouds today... Flew from Carrollton to Jackson, Miss. It was bumpy as shit, and we were socked in pretty much the whole flight...

I work in the Yuma complex of the Arizona state prison system. I work in the low custody yard, so most of my complaints have to do with whiny, low-level inmates. When I worked the highest custody yard a few years back, I saw 3 riots in 3 consecutive years. Not to mention a whole slew of fights and assaults. I guess I could have been posting those all along, but nowadays, having left the prison for a year and a half, and then going back in 2019, I have been in the low custody yard and it is boring and there is lots of whining. No one would want to hear that!

Last flight back to ORD from DEN was potholes from takeoff to landing. I was so wiped from working outside with no shade the day before that I dozed through most of it. My seatmate asked how I could sleep through that. Showed her some of my sunburn and added that I only managed three hours sleep the night before.

I'll miss some of what I do like troubleshooting when others have given up, pulling obscure part numbers out of the air(59-2.Tiny O-ring for a Binks Wren airbrush. 709023002. Our p/n for an Atos 24v EV coil), and going to interesting locales(I have quite a list). I will not miss who I work for.

I was in a really nice Beechcraft Bonanza BE-36. It has all the bells and whistles, and even Air Conditioning! Let me tell you how nice A/C is when you're on the ground in Georgia (and/or Mississippi) humidity!

Isn't that the one with the V tail? Was my favourite plane in flight simulator way back when.

Edit: apparently not that's the 35.

Matt; you're correct, the VE-35's are the V-tails. They're very unique airframes, but have a pretty bad stigma as the "Dr. Killers", not to mention the airplane that killed Ritchie Valens, Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper. Fun trivia fact for today: Waylon Jennings was supposed to fly with Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens, but gave up his seat to J.P. “Big Bopper” Richardson because Richardson wasn't feeling well. All the V-tails are only four place, and if you read the accident report, they had overloaded that airplane to about 130% of max takeoff weight. Normally that wouldn't be a problem, but the weather was pretty bad, and by all accounts the pilot didn't do a proper weight distribution in the airplane. Regrettably, Beechcraft stopped making the V-tail Bonanza's, and parts are becoming harder and harder to find. There are several people I know personally that found it cheaper to buy a whole other airframe for parts and scavenge what they need and sell what they don't. That's enough hijacking of Cheesy's Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes thread, back to our regularly scheduled programming.
