I am supposed to be buying this bike tomorrow

http://yuma.craigslist.org/mcy/2858622278.html

Sold by a Canadian snowbird who has a Konker (Qingqi) back home. I test rode it and was very impressed with it. I had ridden a few Chinese dual sports, but never the Lifan GY-5. I was under the impression that it was tall, but it was not as tall as my old Jetmoto. Registered in Arizona, although a bike with all street parts can be easily registered here regardless--this one just saves me the footwork!

I told him to join us on chinariders especially as some of you Canadian members might even be his neighbor (I think he is from BC, but I will find out tomorrow when we do the deal.)

He has 2 quads, so his wanting a trade on a quad trailer makes sense. He discovered that Yuma, while surrounded by desert, is not 2 wheel friendly--my guess as to one of the reasons for selling it.

Oh yeah, Don from Canada. Good guy.

Sorry, couldn't resist that. I wonder where he's from in BC. $1250 sounds a little steep.

$1250 is the asking price--we haven't got to the negotiating. I'll find out where he is from and maybe this spring or summer some of you BC guys can get together and Konker (I couldn't resist)

It looks clean and has a title already. $1250 sounds alittle high, but not outrageous.

How many years have you been looking now?

Over--looking--4 or 5!! I never had ridden a GY-5, and just riding it a few blocks, I never realized how good you GY-5 guys had it (as far as Chinese bikes go)

Looks like a good price for Canada but the lack of a title can sometimes be a concern.

All you have to do is run the VIN on the Canadian Police Information Centre website and see if it was ever reported as stolen. The subsequent process to obtain the title takes about a month. I learned how to it with Jim's guidance.
