Was there a Chevy rebadge job that looked like this car? I thought it was prone to popcorn

trout licence...

Sunday 1st Oct is the opening of the season..
the river is 116 steps from my door... so no prises
for guessing where I will be at first light sunday morning..

We have had a couple of very dry winters the river hasn't had a flood
down it in 2 years so it got weeded up really badly... unfishable.
This has been a wet winter & the flood that had me unable to get home
for 2 days a while back has changed that... river has a nice clean
gravel bottom again with no weed... Brown trout will be up in there hundreds again..

look foward to being able to come home from work grab a quick coffee then down the river
for a couple hours again this summer.. never really care if I catch anything..it's just a
nice place to be..

life dosn't get much better...

The generation prior had the Chevy Prism. It didn't continued on after 2002. I got the car home. Its raining now so I haven't done much. Doesn't appear to have any water in the oil. It is overfull and smells like gas. Does not have a battery in it. Has a new looking air filter. That is all the further I got. Plan to move it into the shop tomorrow morning.

Around the age of that car, they went from carb to FI. Smell the oil. If it smells like fuel the carb float is hanging open and the fuel shut off valve isn't stopping the flow of fuel after the engine is shut off. At least I think it has a fuel shut off valve on the carb. Even the carb cars have an electric in tank pump. Sometimes referred to as a lift pump, but that more diesel terminology than gasser. If it's FI and the oil has fuel in it, then one of the injectors has fouled, or crapped out, and it running fuel down the cylinder, past the rings, and into the oil pan. This is common on 80's and early 90's cars especially if it's a throttle body injection set up. I replaced so many on Chevy S-10 trucks, Blazers, and full size trucks that I had nightmares about it.

This is an 2003 model. It is fuel injected. I am thinking that it may not have spark and the PO tried to get it started and cranked it until it started washing fuel down the cylinders.

Prisim..thank you this is the one my nephew had that the dealer reported that the engine had seized after the breakdown. Who knows if he ever changed the oil in the thing.

That is a likely cause of the high oil level.

The exhaust is full of water. I have drained oil. Cleared the cylinders and have had it fire a couple times. Currently trying to get clean fuel to the engine. I have removed the fuel pump and have it in a bucket of fuel, but at the point I started to have battery connection issues.

Drained the exhaust with a sawsall. Hoping tonight it will start and run without all that water in the muffler and exhaust pipe.
