Yup. That's what I was thinking.
It turns out your move to modify the hub rather than the sprocket was a good one!

As it stands the Megalli is limited by 6th gear redline, not drag.

I guess it does work . tire size 130/70-17 23.5 dia divided by 2= 11.75 ( .006 x 11.75 x 9500 rpm = 669.75 ) 669.75 divided by final ratio 9.451 = 70.866 Mph given speedo and tach error tolerance. Taking the the oe final drive ratio of 7.290 , 669.75 divided by 7.290 = 91.87 MPH if drag was not a factor or the engine had more power to push threw the drag.

OK i have the 40 tooth sprocket in hand . I have not installed it yet . I've been thinking and i hate to say it after everyones hard work . although this was a prize bike ,the cost was much more than saving the money and buying it . after spending from march though august 1 fully focused on that contest . My wife insisted that i reengage family life . of course she was right and extremely patient during the whole process . all is well with the family . The bike doesent really fit for what i do ,altough it's fun to jump on and take for short trips ,but thats all it does . i need to redirect focus on the goldwing and the engine project on the viva . I may sell it . not sure yet ,just tossing the idea around .

I can appreciate all of that Ron. Perhaps another China Rider would like to keep it in the family. We all worked hard for it, and I'm sure we'd all like to see it go to a good home.

Copy that! Imagine Spud! He could have carved one form a block of tofu for the amount of time he had in that project!

I was glad to see a fellow China Rider win the bike. I was especially happy that a nice, helpful person such as Ron won the bike. Spud

I was happy to contribute, although I won't be voting in online contests anytime soon.
I heard from Saga that they are working on importing the Megelli into Canada; I'm looking forward to seeing one up close.
