Just started to ponder a thought...If the above motors are based off of the same basic engine design as the XL/XR motor....im wondering if i couldnt use some parts off of them to simply add their more powerful stator to my XL?

Not likely. The stator and side cover design are quite different, due to the electric start clutch.
You certainly could use a Gio motor, since it has a stator that is designed to work with a battery. If it didn't meet your needs, you could swap the stator.

Now with all of the above said...jumping back to the GIO for a moment...theoretically i could copy the Hondas light harness for at least the headlight and tail light to convert a GIO to an enduro type bike with lights couldn't i?

You probably could. It's much faster and easier to just buy a complete China harness, although that'll take some guidance from HB.

Good to know, wonder if they ever did make a light harness for the Gios..though the rest of the Hondoids are similar enough there may be a simple solution lurking out there.

Just pondering a thought here...Since the TT250 engine is a bolt in...or pretty much should be anyway...i am wondering if CSC can get ahold of the TT250 motors by themselves? May still end up pursuing the GIO route as a donor if that is cost prohibitive.

The costly part will be in getting the motor across the border. An old Gio refugee is much cheaper.

Show me a pic of the Gio you're talking about, to be sure that we're talking about the same thing. My gut reaction is that it's not actually a 250, but rather the very same motor used in the TT.

Should be no problem fitting that into an XR200 frame; it's based on the same architecture. BTW, it's not the same motor as the TT; this one is OHC, whereas the TT is OHV.

Nice! So it should be doable to fab up a hybrid harness between the XL and Gio harness to get all the functions working correctly. Biggest thing i will need to sort out is the electric start.
