1st commute to work this morn

i wanted to mention that the gearbox and clutch are superb! it is smooth as glass in shifting up or down. neutral is easy to find. no noises, grinding, or rattling. i did find a void spot between 5th and 6th once but i blame that mostly on me babying it and not changing gears like a man. i cant remember where i read the main complaint was the gearbox, must have been a different yr model or different model all together bc this one is like glass! no sudden down-pull or jerking, it simply is glass-like, i don't think a passenger could even feel the shift.

the ONLY complaint i have so far(if i had to mention one) is the handlebars being just a bit too low for my 6'2" 200lb frame, and being 44yrs old, but its still not a deal breaker for me bc
I LOVE THIS BIKE! there is no "i wish it had more power" to keep up with traffic on a 55mph highway, nor does it lack power to pass someone. buying one new is my spice of life bc i have found out that no one sells a good used bike around this price range, or very few far in between. its an all around excellent 250 class street bike! so far

I think once you do the handle bar mod it will be the perfect bike.

The GD250N must of never been imported into the US. I've searched everywhere and have not been able to locate one. Technically the only difference between the GD250R and GD250N is the lack of fairings and conventional handle bars. For the Price you picked up your bike the cost to covert it to GD250N handle bars is nothing. Even less if you do the free mod of relocating the existing bars above the triple tree.

I haven't figured that one out either. If you read the whole thing it sound like somebody is shooting some BS to make it seem complicated to give his buddy's shop some business. lol
How complicated can it be? lol He has a video I ran across of them actually doing it. I haven't be able to find it but will post it when I do.

I searched through my YouTube history and could not find it then remembered it wasn't on YouTube where I found it but embedded on a website. I also realized looking at my history I spend way to much time looking at YouTube. I'll find it eventually.

forward control kit installed easily

i was skeptical of this making much of a difference. i was wrong and this does make a huge difference for taller riders. glad they included the kit. here is pics of the kit installed while removing the spacers and using shorter bolts. all included.

Yeah, you wouldn't think removing what looks like a 1" spacer would make a difference. At least they were thinking and making everything adjustable for different size riders.
Did you get a chance to look at the handle bar adjustment?

Did you get a chance to look at the handle bar adjustment?[/QUOTE]

I did look for a long time several times to find something as to how it was done in your shared pic. i give up trying to find forum or video on it. however i did look the bike over and it scares me. if i remove that main bolt in the center of the tree, what will happen? to me it seems as if the front end has to lower at least the thickness of the tree. will that make it handle awful? if you look at one of my pics below you can see where the rear shock can be adjusted, but i am uncertain it will lower enough to match the front lowered difference. i love the way this bike handles and paranoid doing this will hinder the performance. i am open to ideas clues or anything about this.....it would be perfect for me if i can be successful in the tree flip

The only video I have been able to find again was on the GT250R. The one with GD250r was done almost the same way except they flipped the top triple. From what I have read no one found any difference in handling.

A little pricy but you could always get riser clip ons like these. Not sure the size of your fork tubes. Just have to find ones that will fit your forks. https://www.amazon.com/Woodcraft-Rac...3&s=automotive

sure doesnt feel like a thumper

nice 30 min ride into work this morning hovering around 55-60mph most of the way. i have to say this engine does not thump like a typical single cyl or maybe its bc its just 250cc. irritating vibrations at 55mph are non-existent. hands/feet/body feel fine. the adjusted forward foot peg controls made huge difference. the seat is very comfy and can shift your cheeks around easily with plenty of room and options. the ONLY thing yet to figure out is flipping the triple tree over allowing top mount for the handlebars for higher grip. i love this bike. about 300 miles on it so far. NO, i am not balancing a light pole on my cargo rack/passenger seat!

Am I going to have to buy one just so I can do a write up on how to do the handlebar mod? lol The only thing that's keeping me from buying any one of these Hyosung bikes is funding. I'm trying to avoid having to take out any loans unless it 0% interest.

it seems as if this bike was engineered to move the handlebars on top(and bottom) of triple tree. there is plenty of room on the forks at top to adjust the tree down the forks. the tree must be flipped if you are to reuse the alignment screws on the handlebars to tree(they are currently on the bottom of the tree).
