I've got an older Century MIG welder and use the shielding gas. Way nicer to work with and way cleaner welds (I need that as I am not a pro welder like CrazyglueNDfile is. )
Spend the few extra dollars whenever you buy a welder and get one that you can change the polarity to weld aluminum, uses sheilding gas and that you can use as 110v or 220v.

Ahh man.....Ok Got the welder out after a 40 mile ride on the DR this evening.....it works....it splatters...lol...it didnt stick together...lol...I think I need to play with this thing more....tried using the adjustments on the inside panel.....oh well Im learning.....adjust this then that.....when this spool of flux wire is out Ill spring for the Argon and co2 mix,,,,then see what happens.

I think that you need to reverse polarity when using flux core. Perhaps your instructions will detail that.

Hey Guys Got the welder out today....and played with it some more...I found out that i needed to crank up the amps.....now splattering some good puddles and sticking metal....

Here the upcoming Mrs.Bubba,, and I....yes we r getting Married July 28th....are assisting one of our friends out of a mudd hole.. And me making a splash with the 250x...Sorry the Yamoto didnt make this trip...It will soon my daughter is itching for a muddy mess...lol |

Sorry for not posting in a while....lets see,,,well the wedding and back surgery has kept me from riding and Golf has taken up much of my time in August, my team is 136 wins 9 losses and 1 tie....we r kicking some butts...we r AA and only have been beaten by AAA a teams..I see a State championship in the future....oh I also fixed my blinker on the DR650 this eve...rebuilt it for $4.00 instead of a $75.00 replacement....
I hope you guys r doing fine... |
