Hawk Fork Brace Mod - Page 4

Well I'm back to square one on the fork brace. Whites pulled the old bait and switch on me. They had sent me an order confirmation and then 4 days later told me the $25 brace was out of stock. But for an extra $35 more they would send me a chrome brace that was so narrow at the top it didn't look like it would stiffen anything other than their sales profit. I kindly declined.

They had 3 or 4 other options in the same price range as what I ordered so I don't understand why they didn't offer me one of them. So I just ordered their plain jane model which appears to be the strongest for $21. Guess we'll see what happens.

I was thinking the same thing unless they don't have them in stock either. Who knows?

Do not do business with White's Pit Stop. I got the same run around on the other plain brace for $21, out of stock but we'll offer you another one that's even more expensive than the one they offered me the first time. So I contacted them and none of the cheap braces are in stock that you see on their website, but they do stock the $60 and up braces.

Hell with that, I'll spend $70 for one on Amazon and not have to pay the $12 shipping for 1st class mail.

I had the black version and it didn't fit for me... The metal was just too thick and hard to bend properly.
I tried to tell the seller to make a version for the China bikes, but he says factory minimum is 1000 pieces...

Hey all, recently started taking my Hawk on the street and I was looking to add a fork brace.

All the links seem dead, what exact Harley was being used to find the things people linked from ebay ?

I know this is an old thread, but i'd like to add something.

First, thanks so much for the great idea including part details.

Made it very easy.

I painted mine black to make it blend in with the tire more.

Also, if you raise the front wheel and loosen the axle nut, you can get the brace in and use slightly longer bolts to coax the brace in place enough to then sneak in the original bolts at the other bolt hole.

No need for ratchet straps or removing the front fender.

Looks great and bike feels more stable. Thanks for the idea!

Would anyone who has bought one that worked recently mind sharing where they got it from?

I tried to order the one from WPS racing and the emailed me that it was out of stock and wouldn't be coming back...
