Well slight holdup on the fork swap. The front axle diameter is smaller than that of the xr. So eather new bearings and use an xr axle or scrap that idea and just run the stock parts. I will go with the latter as its easier. Plus keeps the beater look going.
Also the front brakes of the CL are shot. I hope that an xr part will fit so I don't have to spend any money there. Allen

Okay maybe this project needs to come back online. Gas prices are climbing again. I already have this thing and I can get it registered too. The current engine runs and I have half the parts need to get it legal.
I wonder if the 110cc engine will allow 50mph. The down side is the weak brakes. Up side is larger tires than a scoot. Lets get some input on this thing.

If I remember correctly, the CL70 I had would do 60 as indicated by the speedo. I have no idea how close that was to acurate. Mine had a regular clutch and I think it was a 4 speed but dont remember. I think with a bigger engine a higher speed would be easy enough.

The 110 is a 4speed auto clutch. If I can get 60 that is fast enough. My concern right now is braking ability. I don't think honda intending these to go 60mph.
Currently thinking about all LED lighting with a upgraded headlight for night riding. A 35w would be okay for daytime. Not sure what output the little stator has. The engine is an e-start model too. Allen

Finally moved this project into my "shop". It has been out in the weather.
It seems to be low on compression. Was running when I took the wheels off last fall. Allen

Thats is what I am thinking. I only got aboutu 30psi from my compression tester.
I want to pull the engine to paint the frame. Will need to see if I can find something. Valves seem must likely. Allen

Last night while eating dinner I saw a Sturgis special on the Speed Channel that featured the guy who rode his CT90 to Sturgis from the Southeast somewhere 1,100 miles away. 8O
