I haven't heard of anything newer/bigger/better coming out. But you can be sure it will happen about a week after you order the KPX.....

As of right now, the only 2024 Lifan bikes available are the KP Mini RS EFI. The rest of the 2024 bikes are waiting on EPA approval including the New KPT 400. Lifan is not the only ones having issues with the new EPA Regulations. CSC, CFMOTO and a few other are as well. Something about head gaskets. Venom bought the last of the 2023 KPX bikes from American Lifan to make sure they had them to sell.

Does anyone know the diameter of the front forks up by the triple tree? I ordered my KPX and would like to get some light mounts for the forks. It'll be my Lizard... well, at least until the green stickers peel off.

Not right off hand. I can measure them when I get home.

Any idea if the two mounting bolts are the same distance apart on the KPX? Is the width of the tank wider? (Waiting for delivery or I would measure myself)

Same issue in 2024

My new KPX muffler burnt off some of the tire on my first 10 mile ride. I am guessing I need a spacer for the muffler. I thought the smell was paint or oil burning off the engine or muffler. Nope. I contacted Venom and LifanAmerica, stay tuned.

Venom was very prompt with getting back to me with suggestions and more picture requests. I figured I could fix it myself, so I rummaged through my junk drawer and found a brass fitting from ??? for a spacer. Upped the preload quite a bit (I am 6'1 and about 320 lbs). Much better now Now the hard part... breaking it in nicely

Hello, China Riders!
This is my first post. First, I thank Jerry for his YouTube videos and others for their posts and information. On the basis of all the information you generously posted, I bought a 2022 KPX 250 in December 2023 from Venom. I have put 2,000 miles on my KPX 250. I wanted to share my opinion and ask a few questions. I am a trail rider, as opposed to a motocross rider. I am 50+ years old and have owned 20+ motorcycle over the years. I am pleased to report that I am very satisfied with the KPX 250. The performance of the KPX 250 including power and suspension, is very good. The features and equipment all work out of the box and continue to work 2,000 miles later. To my surprise, the stock tires are very good in deep sand, gravel, loose rocks, and pavement, though they cannot handle mud. I would buy another set of the stock tires without hesitation. The gearing is PERFECT for the power. 1st gear crawls up anything at a snails pace. 6th gear runs 72 mph GPS verified without a tuck. I get lots of compliments on the KPX 250 appearance and I like the way it looks. I have had only one mechanical problem. My head gasket joint leaks the tiniest bit of oil in the front left side over the course of a few hundred miles. Venom has sent me a new head gasket in case I need to install it. Before I would replace the gasket, I torqued the head bolts to the max specification, 30 NM, to see if that fixes the leak. I get about 75 miles to the gallon so I can adventure far and wide on a tank of gas. I can go highway speeds to get me to the area where I want to ride off-road. Heck, even the seat is comfortable, so I can ride all day. I have been over 8,000 feet climbing mountains and negative 280 feet in Death Valley on the KPX and it performs very well. My one complaint is... the too long clutch and brake levers. I see a post about someone who tried to replace them with aftermarket ones, but had to machine the clutch lever to make it fit. Does anyone have a bolt on replacement for the KPX 250 levers? Thanks! I am glad to join this forum! |

move levers INWARD
Before buying anything, I would try moving the levers INWARD on the bars; this may require moving around some other bar 'perch'.
After adjusting the levers for your index-finger reach, using the lever-END provides more leverage ... and a softer lever pull. I'd see if you like that, FIRST. Thanks for the candid and comprehensive user report; it's valuable ... Enjoy ... |

Discoveror,
I like the way you think. I do not think that moving the location of the stock levers will suit me. When I broke off half of my brake lever, I found that I was just as happy with half of the lever, and maybe shorter levers would not break when the bike tips over. It seems that the tall kickstand, and my carelessness in choosing a good spot to park, combine to make the bike fall over on the right side. Interestingly, it happens after many seconds of standing upright and after I start to walk away. Humiliating! So, shorter levers more care when parking are my goals. |

Hey guys,
I recently purchased the Lifan KPX 250. While riding my clutch stopped engaging. I went ahead and took the cover off and noticed the top push rod was missing? I purchased a new one from CSC Motors for the TT250, It appeared to be the right part. However once putting the rod in my clutch cover will not close and the clutch cable is so tight im unable to adjust it at all. Im not sure if im doing the wrong repairs or not. I have a video showing the part and clutch plate issue. Venom Motorsports hasnt been able to help me mutch. I would really love to get back up and riding again. Any advise? |
