I’m old, I’m old. I shall wear my pant leg rolled.
Apparently, not rolled far enough.

The Tour de France has been delayed until August. I dont know if the weather changes there very much between July and August. It gives riders an extra month to consume and flush those PEDs.

I guess climbing Mont Ventoux in late August will not be pleasant. I haven't actually checked out the route for 2020.

The Tour will travel through Provence, but no Mont Ventoux stage finish this year.
-the 2020 route will not cross the border. The entire route is within France.

Nothing that nice, wb.
Best guess is a 1954 Raleigh/Robin Hood with well done custom paint. I think I paid something like $15 for the frame, threw on a 27” fork along with a mish mash of bin parts. Rear hub is a Bendix manually shifted 2sp coaster converted to 2sp fixed. Front is a Fulgher drum brake. The Wrights Swallow saddle on it is worth more than all three of those bikes combined.

I have nothing super fancy, but, a long time ago (1994?) I bought a Cannondale M700, new. It never fit me right. Too small of a frame. I sold it in maybe mid 2000’s but, I kept the rims, the crankset and anything else I thought was of value. Fast forward to 2017. The parts had been used on several other bikes, but I finally found a large Marin aluminum frame in a trade deal that fit me well. I wanted to create a Sub 24 pound bike, like the Cannondale had been. I loved the lightness and stiffness of that bike. I searched all over and finally found Mosso, a Taiwanese company that made aluminum front forks similar to the Cannondale. The forks were fairly expensive, but had a Taiwanese friend bring me a set back from a trip home. Anyway, I reassembled the bike with all the Deore LX and XT Parts, the original rims from the Cannondale, some new tires and tubes, and the new front fork. I’ve put many miles on the bike. Lately, been taking it out to the coast and riding on the beach. Put 12 hilly miles on it today as well. Been an amazing bike. I’ve even ridden it on some nice single track. I have a quick lower seat on it too. Figured I don’t need suspension, and, my riding style is such that all I want is light, light, light. Picture attached!

Dude. You are tough to ride trails without a suspension fork. I remember getting the insatiable itch in my forearms from the constant small bumps.

Maybe I’m way too slow, but I don’t feel the need for a front suspension. I can lower the seat for downhills, and have a lot of fun on single track. I did the Mckenzie river trail a few years ago, a 26 mile mostly downhill here in Oregon (btw, highly recommended. There’s a company that drives the bikes to the top) and although I was incredibly tired, and my neck ached, I had no issues with it not being full suspension. I also did the Mt Ashland Spring thaw 2 years ago, and again, no major issues.

With all the bikes now at Cheesy Manor, I’ve been freshening up the rides that have been neglected for the past several years.
The Rivendell only needed air in the tires. Forgot how it’s such a joy to ride. Did what I could for the the bike with all the seniority but she’ll need tires. We go back to 1970 together. Yup, 50 years I’ve had this old Robin Hood. I can’t begin to guess how many miles are on it.
