For anyone attempting to register their bike in CT - it must be inspected at the Wethersfield or Hamden DMV locations. DMV will not grant a registration otherwise as Zongshen is not a recognized manufacturer in the State of CT. Those RX3 owners in CT who got a registration - got it erroneously from what I am told. And DMV employees that gave it to them will be disciplined - which I feel bad about. And, I have been told that if I was to ride my bike up to the DMV location for inspection, that DMV has the right to impound it - must be trailered. My temporary registration I received yesterday was revoked today for this reason (refund pending).
So if you are a CT RX3 owner, please avoid the time and frustration I have gone through and follow the process above for the best results in getting a tag for your bike.

Thanks for the advisory, Dualsport Chic.
Wow... not sure why I'm surprised that DMVs across the county don't seem to talk to one another. These are, after all, government offices. And I'm really sorry to hear of the trouble you've had to go through to get your RX3 registered. But I applaud your advisory as it would truly stink to have your brand new RX3 impounded because it was ridden to the DMV rather than trailered. That's an incredibly valuable notice to provide. |

Just don't want to see anyone go through the the same wasted time and frustration. I know everyone here and on ADV would do the same for me and others if they found this to be the case.

It seems Joe Berk is going to be riding a Zongshen RX1 across China this summer.
http://californiascooterco.com/blog/?p=21206 I can't believe he gets paid to do this stuff!

That RX1 looks slightly different than the RX3 ... headlight, windshield, fairing ... I googled it, but didn't see much info.
Couldn't make the links on this page work ... http://en.zongshenmotor.com/?q=node/931

The links don't work for me, either. Zongshen needs to work on its website.
Apparently the RX1 will available in two models. ZS150-51: ZS157MJ engine, 149 cc displacement http://moto.chinacar.com.cn/zongshen...51_508906.html ZS200-51: ZS167FML-4 engine, 204 cc displacement http://moto.chinacar.com.cn/zongshen...51_512504.html

Here are several commercial videos promoting the new, Zongshen RX1 bikes. I hope these commercials work better in China, than here.

The RX1 is available in both 149 cc, and 204 cc versions. Both are single cylinder motorcycles.

I'm sure that advertising works well in China. Those videos weren't intended for distribution in North America.
