Gaijin, I decided that it was better to go ahead and drop the engine out of the frame rather than leaving that swingarm bolt in place. It is so much easier to work on the motive lump when it's on the bench. Yes, I had to then slip the engine back into the frame but I thought the extra step was worth it for better access. Adjusting the exhaust valves was a snap! Sounds like you are making progress with the engine still in the frame. Best of luck.

Disassembly is complete.
For those curious, yes, the picture I showed before is indeed enough room (barely) to get the rocker cover and the cylinder head out. The rocker cover is a tricky bugger to get out of there; I eventually lifted it over the camshaft sprocket and rotated it out the right side, with about four atoms' worth of clearance. Here's the piston comparison photo. Both have rings on them. |

^^^^Any update on that 29X BB swap?
My RX3 is still in the garage in a lot of pieces... This TX heat has been "oppressive", as the weather folk call it, and I've thusly been relegated to other projects. |

That swap ended in disaster due to insufficient mechanical skills. Mistakes were made, and then compounded, so -- no, this build will not be happening.

Zongshen CAN print engine numbers on cases and also local place can print the same number yet style of font would differ a little. |

Hello NZB, is the 300cc kit still available and able to ship to Australia?
Would like to increase the torque for my RX3, called Viar Vortex in Indonesia. Really like this bike for touring the country when I'm back there for holidays: Thank you. |

Thank you. Am I correct that 82mm RTC is proven, and no one tried 84mm yet?
Yes unloading at Melbourne docks are problematic at the moment due to virus. Any chance to share or PM me the shipping cost to Melbourne, Australia? Slow is fine as I will be back in Indonesia in December only. Another consideration is our Dollar value is very low at the moment. So I have to decide whether to wait a bit too. Thanks. |

82mm works great with EFI stock map. If Carb model then you can tune the carb easily and you can easily run the 84mm kit as many have - just not from this forum Quote:

The 84mm kits are now cheaper on AliExpress than the 82mm kits. Any word on how reliable the 84mm kit is? I'm also curious if anyone has pursued the Benelli TNT135 Power Commander on the RX3 any further. Could be a lot of potential power to unlock there.

I've got the 82mm in mine, for a couple years now, still doing fine, but would like to have a Power Commander for it, to boost the fueling in the upper range

I contacted dynojet and they said they don't have one and have no ETA on when one will be made. But if a bunch of people start asking for one, they may change their mind.
How does the 283cc kit work for 75mph? I have no problems with the 250cc at this speed, but I'm not sure if the 283cc will have the top end to be able to maintain 75 on the highway. I'd even be willing to downgrade to a carb maybe, if it would work without stripping everything out. Charles. |
