The whole thing is super cute!

The bar ends need some Tassels (I have no idea how to spell that) Harley style.

Look what I found under my carport when I got home. A pair of Murry bikes. No one knows who dropped them off. Looks like another motorized bike project to me. 😆

Here she is on the salt at Bonneville. Bro in Law lettered and striped it for me.

The great Eddie Merckx suffered a pretty bad head injury this week when he fell on his bicycle. He won both the Tour de France and Giro de Italia multiple times and also won the Vuelta a Espana. I don't know if he was the last racer to win all 3 Grand Tours, but there have only been a few.
-His Tour de France competitors didn't like him much, because he tried to win EVERY stage of the Tour (and almost did). He did not just focus on time trials and the mountains. He did not believe in "Letting the sprinters have their day" on the podium, as is customary these days.
-Say a little prayer for Eddie, or send him some positive thoughts if religion is not your thing.

I finally got a fat tire to take camping and explore. I get framed is bottom of the line brand outside of walmart bikes, but its light, has ok components and only needed some love to make sure it was assembled correctly, kinda like a china bike lol. Got it when Our gander outdoors first started to go belly up a few months ago for $180, they normally went for $450-500. Hydraulic brakes get a little getting used to, but i like them.

I need to find a better seat, it hurts

so sad to hear.... FYI, the only 2 people to EVER win the Triple Crown of cycling were Eddie in 1974, and Stephen Roach of Ireland in 1987. By Triple Crown i mean winning the Giro d'Italia, the Tour de France and the Road World Cycling Championship in one calendar year.

what a feat.....

hope he heals quick...

the seat will hurt till you build callous "down there" LOL i used to ride every day on a basic seat, with no issues.. i have stepped back a bit from cycling, and have lost the callous, and now any seat hurts if i ride more than about 5 mi even with a good chamois and cream...

as far as a frame goes, it is but a geometrically shaped carrier for the components that matter...LOL once you get used to the hydros, you will never look back...

A buddy who thinks spending thousands of dollars on a bike is reasonable has been giving me shit because it's a "framed" brand bike, which are garbage to serious cyclist i guess. I just keep giving him crap that he's getting old so that's why he has an E bike now. He can still pedal 50+ miles a day, but he's been on the E bike a whole lot more lately lol.

if i had thousands to spend on a bike, i would probably have one...LOL instead i built up a multi thousand dollar bike from parts and a new old stock frame... somewhere in this thread theres pics of my Marin Attack trail Pro that i built, with a build cost of around $700 all in.... take the inflation of bike prices from the 2003 list price of $2300 value for the bike built up in 03, andits about a $5000 bike now...LOL it pays to know a few things, and be able to settle for a very well built single pivot rear end vs a multi-link-horst-whachamacallit with a flip chip and fidgety-doohickies....LOL

Most of his are solid road bikes, all carbon fiber. Surprised the wind hasn't blown it away lol. Not sure what brand it is, but he likes it so good for him. I'm too cheap to own something like that, and too out of shape...

I have a cheap schwinn hybrid i use for short rides on the paved trail we have around here but it was useless when camping. The tires, brakes and gearing on this thing make riding dirt trails and what not a breeze. Would have never paid the $400 they normally wanted for it but for what i got it for it seems like a good deal.

What model Framed bike is that? Framed bikes are not necessarily ‘cheap’ bikes. And I am a serious cyclist. Or at least I was. If you paid $180 for it, you stole it. I bought a 2017 Framed Minnesota 2.0 close out direct from Framed last year and then it was still $700. Like everything about it but the SRAM shifters.

One ‘snappy comeback’ to a bike snob is “Let’s see how well it’s held up five years from now.” I’ve had one of my bikes 50 years next June.
