Put heated grips and jacket on one circuit and GPS on battery ? rj, not an electrician .

Another option would be to power all of your accessories through a 10A relay. I have used this option partly because the UK RX3 doesn't have the accessories switch. I got one with a built in fuse for about $5.

I had a friend interested in the RX3 and made a deal to ride his BMW S1000RR and he gets to try the RX3.

Lets just say that's about as stark a contrast as you can get between power.

Due to my jacket flapping so much it was painfull I only got it up to redline in 3rd gear, look that up if your curious. I've never been on anything that fast ever. The brakes are so strong it's one finger and be gentle.

It's a really mellow bike under 5k RPM lol.

I used this for 3 years on my Triumph Tiger 1050 commuting all year exclusively by bike, so tons of rain and some salt in winter. Bike looked extremely good after 50,000 miles. That stuff works extremely well, literally next to no rust on that Tiger.

As Jay has already posted, you can pick them up quite easily, mine just happens to have the fuse bit built in.

My set up has kind of evolved over time, i need to sort it properly at some point.
On the UK RX3 there was a small spare connector supplying 12v that is switched on/off by the ignition. I used this to activate the relay.

Running off the relay I have

1/ heated grips
2/ small LED spots, front and back (pic showing switch)
3/ voltmeter
4/ kick stand switch (pic showing over ride switch - sounds horn when stand is down)

Congratulations on running a fine ship here SpudRider. We would be in a world of hurt if this forum wasn't around to help us out with first class information and first class people. You're welcome, Spud. I don't know anything about AAPex or where they are located. I just did a search for a pic of that type generic relay and selected that one to show.

They're made in numerous control & controlled voltages and amp ratings. As Katflap noted, there are even fuzed units. At work I see them on equipment from Caterpillar loaders to a little portable steam cleaner.
