I’m thinking of just upgrading the carb and be done with it.
So the Mikuni I’d need is the VM 26 ? I saw them on Amazon for around $90. Any mods needed to get it to connect ? I have a friend that says he has lots of Mikuni jets so he’ll help me tune it when I get it. Factory spark plug is an LG something or other, what NGK plug should I look for ? |

This is the one most have bought from. I personally have not bought one and just tuned the stock carb. Because of the P&P and decking of the head I upgraded to a 30mm smooth bore PWK30 carb. https://www.amazon.com/Mikuni-Carbur...QR6JYGM3PT4H13

Might be a good time to upgrade to pumper carb. I plan to go pumper once I am done playing with the PZ30. My ol' school MX racer buddy likes to tell me "4-stroke engines SHOULD have a pumper carb!"

Try some b12 chemtool, it's a lot more aggressive cleaner than seafoam. Just don't get it on paint or it might come off too. Best method is to just remove it and manually clean everything. There isn't anything to be afraid of with these carbs, they are very simple and hard to damage.

Probably one of those things that seem like they are going to be hard until you actually do it, and then you realize it isn’t so bad.
I wasn’t too sure about the valve adjustment, but after doing it it is pretty easy. I think I’m just imagining when I open up the carb, pilots and jets and springs will be falling out every which way. I’ll take the carb off when I get home, I’ll remove the carb, take it apart and give it a good cleaning. So to make the bike run more rich, that is the screw on the bottom that has the tamper proof seal over it ? |

Only things to remember is to drain the bowl so you don't dump gas all over yourself, and to watch the float pin as it is retained by the sides of the bowl and once its off it will fall out. I just take the pin out and the float off so i don't lose it, just have to put the pin in to but it back together. yeah that the air fuel screw that is used to make small adjustments, backing it out some will richen it up to an extent.
