They called this morning and said they couldn't deliver until tomorrow afternoon which didn't work for me and Friday is iffy as well...easier to just run to the depot in Decatur Hellinois and get it.... Made for a good drive....I enjoyed it!

Take it easy on that back bud. Your doing the right thing, slow and methodical with final prep. Enjoy!

Folks ... feel free to take a look see at these pics ... some of them were from phone and blurry - sorry .... https://goo.gl/photos/6J5TJc7qQsNBmUYBA

Distance from Chongqing China to Azusa, CA is approx 7161 miles. Distance from Azusa, CA to Lerna Il 1932 miles .... grand total 9093 miles. . . and the only thing/damage I've found thus far is the paint on the right side pannier guard/rack rubbed in shipping taking the paint off. . . Pretty damned good as far as Im concerned. I would like to get some touch up paint and address it.

My other observation was the quality of the crate. The cardboard naturally took most of the abuse but the pallet, wheel stops, foam padding and strap downs were A1 in performance and overall quality.

Naturally I've some things to install on the bike, center stand, electronics, wind screen, bar risers, mirrors and trunk in addition to spending a good relaxing day going over every nut and bolt possible and to start planning my attack on the fuel tank and wheel bearings. I'm going to hold off installing the hand guards until after the replacement bar arrive.

I do have a question for those who've already been down this path ... Should I install the electronic ports prior to or after the windscreen?

I'll do a full review of the bike as I see it when I'm done getting things attached and it's ready to run down the road some.

Thanx to one and all for answering my questions and offering support and tips over the past several months. ..... I'm ready for all this to start coming together and the next phase of this adventure to begin!

Thanks for posting the photos. You bike looks great, and it arrived in excellent condition.

What are you going to do to the fuel tank?

Definitely install the power ports before you install the windshield.

Spud: "I also generously trimmed the plastic from both accessory plug outlets"

I took the 12v and usb wings off and don't use them as well as some of the other foofoo plastic cover trim that gets in the way or hides fallen screws in front of tank. When I went to remove the usb side wing ,the screw was so tight that it spun the brass thread insert in the instrument cluster and I ended up castrating the wing off of the bike. Wasn't perdy. But does make getting to the wind screen nuts much more satisfying I will say, rj

I did get out in the garage today and really enjoyed getting to know this bike. Here's a couple pics of an easy install plus a video of a rambling Ernest T Bass ...

I would install the 13T now. It will be much easier to keep the RPMs under 5000 during break in, because you'll have usable torque at 3500 in first gear.
