im thinking that 2018 rx5 400cc version might be the perfect weight to power ratio. but who wants to wait till 18'. will definitely be keeping an eye on this for January 2017. but of course all this hinges on whether or not CSC decides on what they want (if any) to import.

Those bikes, while I am sure fill a niche market, will not work for me, too heavy. My 250 is just a tad underpowered, but otherwise OK. The Tuokai is light enough and has spoke wheels and a 6 sp trans. Just a small gas tank.
I think this Tuokai is the manufacturer, pitser is just a rebrand. Whether or not Tuokai makes the motor or buys it I haven't seen evidence. It's interesting as I have been ordering parts from some chinese manufacturers and I see tons of resellers of the same parts all claiming to be the manufacture, but they all come from the same factory I buy from. They will even brand my name on the parts. I have some parts made locally, and the company in China has said they can make em cheap, problem is once my design is in their hands, they could sell my design to all the other vendors. Maybe or maybe not, but why risk it? I have the monopoly right now. This rebranding crap is hurting the chinese bike market. It's killing the aftermarket parts and thus hurting the bike sales. So the hawk and csc fair well, because the vendors try to service the rebrand bikes. Where can I find a list of engine manufacturer that supply all the satellite bike companies? |

The guy I sold it to could not have been happier, at that moment at least. Maybe he was planning on repowering it.

If that bike comes with saddlebags skid plates rack and the doo-dads they have another winner. If I didn't already have a nearly brand new heavily modified DRZ I'd snatch that bad boy up.

I had a similar dilema that may help you to hear about. I had a KLX250. Great bike but small tank and underpowered. I piped and jetted it so the power got better but the bike was obnoxiously loud for me. I have sensitive ears. I wear earplus using a vacuum or hammer or grinder or even driving my car with the top down. The bike weighed 299 wet. I upgraded to the new DRZ400S. Stock it makes good power so no changes have been made to it in that regard. Very quiet. Big tank. 317 pounds wet. Believe me, I don't notice the 18 pounds. So, don't worry about the weight difference between a 400 and a 250. Should be fine.
