That oil is nasty looking. Maybe they don't recycle in China, they just send the oil out of the country in motorcycles.
Haha. I lined it in plastic just incsse. One day it's, we have too many Tupperware. Now that I used one, it will be, stop wasting the Tupperware.
And those bags are bags of pellets for the stove.

MA Registration

Hey, my Hawk is on the truck and will be here next week. I'm in Marlborough, MA. Have you registered yours yet...was it no problem at the RMV?

I haven't tried yet. I never got any paperwork yet. I'm working on getting the MCO. If I can't for some reason, manage to do it in MA, my brother lives in RI and I'll have to go through him, and then "sell" it back to me with his reg and a bill of sale and do it that way

SHE's ALIVE!!!! Finally had time to finish putting everything together and started her up. Took a little finagling to get her started and idle. Also, get my miscellaneous jet kit in. It's drizzling here at home (Massachusetts). Only got a little test ride in.

What's does everyone run for fuel octane? Premium?

Supposed to be sunny and 50 tomorrow. I'll put a couple easy miles on her tomorrow, and then change out the oil again. I might just pull the trigger and buy a mikuni carb this weekend so I don't have to hassle with this one. Change out the jet in the mikuni when it comes in and before I toss it on. I plan on doing the cluster and an exhaust in the future. But for now, I'm just going to enjoy it as it is for a little bit

Now, to decal it or not?

Looks niceLeave the decals off. I'm thinking about taking mine off. Manual recommends 90 octane minimum. I think if you go with the middle grade you should be good.

90 RON!!! It's supposed to state "RON"!!!

We in America use AKI for fuel testing...

Your HAWK should run just fine on regular 85 to 87 fuel in North America... about the same as 90 RON over in China...

Our Bashan 200 has higher compression ratio then the HAWK and it runs just fine on 85 gas

No need for anything higher than 87 octane. I agree with Jerry... leave the decals off.

I'll have to double check. Thought my manual said 90 octane. Which I took as middle of the road to premium.

Has anyone taken the baffle/silencer out of the muffler? I did tonight just to see/hear if there was a difference. And there is a noticeable difference. I prefer it without it in.

Pistol, I'm in the southcoast of MA. 1hr south of Boston, and 1 hr east of Cape Cod. 30min east of Providence, RI

Fuel recommendation octane 90. Anyone else's say this as well? Or should I ask, say anything different?

My manual says 90 also. Premium here is 92, so I got a 5 gallon can of that. With the mileage it gets, that should be plenty and only costs a bit more.
