Agreed. I felt a much improved throttle response and easier engine starting as well.

How much did you have to machine off the cylinder bottom?

I did not bore the case only the sleeve protrusion. Im not sure there's enough case material to bore it without getting into the oil galley BUT plenty of material on the cylinder sleeve. I'm actually getting ready to turn another one down. When I get around to it I'll post some pictures. I have some pics on the hawk250 fb page from my current build. Has almost 1500 miles on it now with no issues. This winter I'm Going to pop the head off and check out how it looks and replace it with a head I just finished up milling 1.25mm off and porting. If its showing excessive wear I'll freshen it up but I don't think it will be needed. I currently have a ported unmilled head wanting a bump in compression to see what that does for me.

Thanks, I'll have to see if I can find someone around here that can machine one down. I was gonna bore the case but this would be allot easier.

Any machine shop with a mill or bridgeport with a turntable base can do the work needed in a short amount of time. I just turned mine down at work that way. A lathe could also be used but it is a bit more involved.

What about the 18mm wrist pin that comes with the cg300 cylinder kit?
the stock 67mm has a 15mm wrist pin, So does this mean the rod/crank has to be swapped or just the the connecting rod wrist journal can be machined out to fit? |
