Mine is attached directly to the rack itself. No additional support pieces used.
The plastic is pretty ridgid and the bottom is sturdy. I put over a 100lbs of stuff in there. I don't recommend trying that. I have also strapped many items to it. It has taken falls and hits and still looks good. Allen

I finally decided on a luggage and here it is...thanks to Kato.
How I connected it. I need to add washers for a little more support. |

Looks good jayg. One thing you may want to do is add some fender washers to the inside of your action packer. It will help destribute the pull a little better.I put cross braces totaly across the inside from bolt to bolt to help distribute the pull.
I like the way you attached it.Good job.Another Katorised bike....

I just have some plain washers, but I am sure the extra bracing helps.
Mine has stayed for 6500 miles now. Allen

Thanks On the trunk..to be honest, I haven't used it enough to really form an opinion. I do have the medium, and it will NOT hold my helmet...so I can understand wanting the larger size. I had some reservations about the mounting plate, which is part of the reason for me ordering the medium, but if I had it to do over again, I would more seriously consider the larger model. Hope that helps...

Do you think a larger one than the one you have would be too big or still OK? I'm really leaning towards the larger of the two. Thanks for your input.

I think my action packer is closer in size to the larger one and it doesn't seem to big to me.

kczukiman - I do like that a little more than the way I have my action packer attached. I need to go to a Ace and see what they have to add to my configuration.
I need this box to be really sturdy because it will carry my computer and stuff on my daily commute. Loosing it mid way will not be nice. $2700.00 to replace my Mac Book Pro...not so good. |

Kato and kczukiman - I was wondering how do you lock your trunk? I tried a long shaft mater lock and I could not get it close? I also tried a waterproof master short shaft lock and I could not get it through the hole.
Please do tell... Thanks. |

I used just a couple old master locks. Tight fit on the hole, but it worked.
You could probably drill the hole slightly bigger. I don't usually lock it. Nothing of much value in there. I have used them when I left itin a parking lot for an extended period and also for a helmet lock. Allen
