2007 hi bird/ komoto 250. guy bought it in 08 for $1400. shipped, road it for 141 miles and hated it, it ran like crap, decided he wanted a mustang and put it up for sale in early 09. I gave $800. for it, adjusted the mixture, raised the needle clip and a 110 jet and it runs great. Ive also installed a 40t rear cog, it will do a honest 70mph now with out screaming its guts out. 55mph is around 5600rpms. mpgs is about 50. 8)

If I may ask, did you get the motorcycle from Tim at Vbike?

No problema, Mike; thank you for your reply. I was considering getting the same bike as you, but Tim was sold out of them at that time.

I was considering getting the HiBird 250 before I bought the Zongshen 200GY-2. However, I am very glad I purchased the Zongshen; it is a great little motorcycle!

I don't have any experience with the HiBird 250, but it also seems to be a very nice bike.

Thank you for the kind words, my friend. Incidentally, your bike looks great with the new K760s on it.

Welcome to the forums, David!

I got a great deal on my Zong because I bought it as surplus stock, directly from an importer, without a warranty. The price was so attractive I decided to "roll the dice." Fortunately, after riding my Zong for over 10,000 miles, I have not had any mechanical problems whatsoever.

I am very pleased to hear that you received good service and warranty coverage from your dealer! Buying from a local dealer has certainly worked well for you.

If you get a chance, please post some photos of your 2007 Zong. We love photographs.
