I believe the 520 and 530 chain links are the same length pin to pin but the 530 is wider. In theory you can use 520 sprockets with a 530 chain but you can't use a 530 sprocket with a 520 chain. I've got a 13t 530 sprocket on my bike and I don't think there's room for anything larger... But it's a big chain and should never wear out.

Being new to this, my web research said the same thing. The original 530 chain can theoretically run on 520 sprockets, but can have side to side motion according to what I read.

I have not counted the links on the original chain. Any idea how many links it is?

I have the new sprockets and a chain coming in the mail soon and will see what works best.

The $80 amazon exhaust, albeit a bunch of work, is kind of nice too.

I am looking forward to wrapping the tweaking up on this bike and just enjoy using it. Almost done with it and will post the details and pictures for the benefit of others.

Since I was waiting months for Q9 to send my bike I had time to look for deals on an exhaust. I got a new t4 for $140 and used it. I didn't have the issues with the air box and clutch arm but the pipe is a little smaller than the Amazon pipes I believe. I did have to make up a little bracket to hang the pipe a little lower but it fits good.

This is what the stock 2021 12 tooth 530 20mm sprocket looks like as it comes from the factory with the 530 chain.

I paid 12.95 for the 13t off eBay, and it fits great, but as I said before, I don't think a 14t will fit in the case area. I haven't tried finding a rear sprocket yet, as right now the gearing with the 13t works pretty good for what I use the bike for. Also, my rear Dunlop is a little taller than the stocker and it helps keep the rpms down.

I installed the 520 100 link chain tonight, 13tooth 20mm front sprocket, automatic chain tensioner and 32 rear 520 sprocket.

Works great and completely changed the bike for the better.

That is good to hear. I just received my 32 tooth rear sprocket this evening. I’m going to try to get it on the bike tomorrow. I was a little worried the 32 may be too little and I’d be giving up to much torque. Thanks for giving the link count. Where did that leave you with the rear axle? Was it more towards the center of the adjustment space?

It is pushed to the front to allow for chain stretch.

I test drove with a passenger. Worked fine and still has torque.

I have yet to drive solo on it

Very pleased.

I adjusted the valves last night and now the bike won’t start. Do I need to adjust the air/fuel mixture after doing the valves. Any help would be very appreciated.

Every once in 5 attempts it will pop once and then turning over and nothing. I don’t smell any gas during or after any of the attempts. Nor do I sniff gas. It just seems like I do.
