Yes, as we have a carburetor here, I drained the entire tank via the drain screw on the carburator
Then proceeded to fill it up and it barely took 14L...

Did you measure the fuel from a fuel pump, or did you measure it by hand with a calibrated container?

Fuel pump. I don't think a service station fuel pump can steal me 2L of fuel on the readings

Yes, but the fuel tank and the fuel float are the same.

I agree; I was just curious. The fuel pumps here must be inspected regularly to make sure the meters are accurate. I'm sure it's the same in Buenos Aires.

What puzzles me the most, is that it is advertised everywhere as a 16L tank, around the world all sites say 16L. But it's not true :(

Hey Peperino, my tank seems way off to. I had the tank off and totally empty, after installing the tank I pushed the bike to the gas station, (couple of hundred feet), this was the first "real" fill up and I was surprised the tanks only took 13.3 liters. Of course during the fill the bike was on it side stand but then I stood it up right to see if there was much more room for fuel, no, not really much more and I'm sure not 3 litters, maybe 7/10ths to get to 14 but that would be full to the top.

I'm going to run it back down to nothing again and and see what I get. I can't imagine, like you, that the gas station is off by that much. And I'll use a different station.

Your right about all the great info in the thread, I've read the whole thing before and scroll through it several times a week.

Yes, just like you, I'm very surprised that it is advertised everywhere as a 16L tank.

Perhaps total volume of the tank is 16L. How many L does the fuel pump displace?

What you mean? I emptied the tank, went to the pump and I barely could fill 14L in

If I am not mistaken your fuel pump is mounted inside the tank. It is obviously displacing some area that can not be filled with fuel.

Nono, my bike does not have a fuel pump. It's carburetted

The fuel pump is not very large. It displaces about 1/2 pint of fuel.
