Cheesy,
Sorry to hear about your misfortune with the carrying of your bike to test the new seat and ride. Hope you don’t need a new rear rim.
I’ll be waiting to hear how things work out.

No time to look at it this weekend as I had hoped, vehicle maintenance day with Mrs. C’s Audi at the top of the list. Play day tomorrow.

So i stepped into the new millenium today with my MTB.... LOL ditched the circa 1996 bright orange magnesium crankbros mallets for a fresh pair of black/silver current gen mallet 2s, and switched out my tubes for a stans notubes enduro kit.... also installed the 40-11 cassette and deralieur extension... then retuned the gears/ shortened the chain for 2x instead of 3x....

saddle n shifter.jpg
I was perusing some sites and found this saddle and shifter setup. I would probably pick something a little less violent that a butterfly knife handle for my shifter.

Bicycle or motorbike? $4500 direct ship. No licence 50 mile range. Looks neat.

I like the Monday e-bike better than the ones that are based on a vintage minibike loop frame. The e-bikes with the minibike frame look heavier and look difficult to pedal.

You’re going to love the tubeless setup. I haven’t had a flat in 4-5 years on my tubeless tires and I ride every other day in pretty gnarly terrain. I’ve also converted all of my bikes over to 1x setups. 11-50 cassette on the rear and 26t on the front. That probably seems like overkill to some but most of my rides average 180’ per mile of climbing. Pic is of mine and my wife’s bikes.

Don’t know why the pic is sideways. If someone can fix it I would sure appreciate it

That is an electric and pedal-powered mini bike frame on bike wheels.

Crud. Well, the wheel is toast.

On the hunt for a 27x1 1/4 36h alloy rim now. Checked the bay, amazon and aliexpress so far. Either overpriced, ridiculous shipping costs, complete wheel only, or unavailable. In true Chinarider fashion, I'll check the 'Take Off Bin' at the bike shop tomorrow. I'm in no hurry, so if I strike out there, I'll wait until the big bike swap at Harper College in February.

My Sears Spyder.jpg
I bought a Sears Spyder 24" frame/fork this week (banana seat bike). Original chrome finish has been painted over, so no need to attempt to source original parts.

-It was advertised a a Sears Screamer, but I don't think there were any 24" Screamers produced.
-Serial no indicates that it is indeed a bike sold by Sears and I will attempt to further decode the serial no when I take delivery near the end of the week.

I saw those, bogie, and almost bit. But nowhere did I see whether the rim is drilled for presta or schrader. And I just spent 30k on a car.

Good score. Not a Screamer and not sure it’s Spyder, either. Springer fork, and tab on the head tube for a horn and a tank make me think this as a late forties to early sixties cruiser. But I’ve been wrong before. Swoopy drop outs are a Murray thing and they made bikes for Sears. Looks to be in real nice shape.
