I picked up a 2012 Honda 5hp outboard motor from some old geezer who said it wouldn’t idle because of a part in the throttle linkage he broke or lost (he didn’t exactly remember ) Anyway ,it starts first pull ,and works perfectly so no idea what the dude was talking about .$100.00 and an oil change (a whopping 1/2 litre of oil ) and I am expecting many years of great service .

19 gallons of diesel @3.299$. That was after driving 345 miles to my Dad's place in Rice Lake, WI from home and another 162 miles from Dad's to Mauston, WI before filling up. The Baby Power Stroke in the eff one fiddy delivered 29.5 mpg @ 72 mph on the way up. Had a headwind on the way back and it dropped to 28.4.

Some briquets for the snake method. . Had a 12lb bag strapped to the back of the Hawk. Works better than lump for smoking with steady temps. Ribs n salmon getting the smoke.

PC Monitor Upgrade
I Upgraded my PC display from a Korean 48" 4k 60hz IPS to an LG OLED 4k120hz C3. Which is last years model being replaced by the newer C4.
I missed out on the last run of C2 panels last Black Friday which were not 'smart TV' but much of the same panel output. Well it had a $1000 discount going and I couldn't see it getting any cheaper any time soon so opted for afterpay and here it is... Yes it actually a down size but the picture vibrancy is something crappy phone camera quality wont capture. It took me awhile to adjust from my usual washed out IPS settings. Benefit of tighter pixel density, peripheral view is better also as a gamer about 3-4ft back from the screen. Text seems sharp enough for my aging eyes... Would love to be testing out the 120hz freesync capability but I had to order a HDMI 2.1 cable to make it work and the LGC3 unfortunately has no display port option. Overall happy with the purchase thus far.... Smart TV capability no idea how good that is as I will likely never use it. |

Been having some issues with the vacuum petcock on the Ural so sprung for a Yamaha 2ug-24500-02-00 non vacuum petcock, which is the recommended replacement. After the swap, I'll hunt down a repair kit for the vacuum unit...if it's not beyond repair. There's been a few gallons of fuel run through it over the years.

Needed something to tinker with in the garage. Putting it on an old cruiser bike that used to have a 2 stroke bike engine. The 2 stroke was loud and very crudely made. The 4 stroke is much quieter and better made, a Chinese copy of a Honda GXH50 with a 5/1 cogged belt reduction. |

$40 at a garage sale got me a NIB trailer jack, a set of long handle SAE Allen Wrenches , and an old two door cabinet for under the bench by the lathe.
The same garage sale produced a wooden toy snake for one grandson and an inflatable T-rex suit for the other.
