I enjoyed riding FAW through the ATV trails and back forty at my sisters' place. Here, though, most trails are paved and the FAW is very truck like on those. What off road trails we have tend to go straight up, straight down and have oodles of mud. Not too enjoyable on an SS with a coaster brake. Jeff and CAMBR(Chicago Area Mountain Bike Riders) have done one heck of a job developing trails here.

Oh that's nice. The colors really go well together. Looks like it has some pretty good options. I test rode an 8 speed fat tire bike with caliper brakes. Just riding through the ditch behind the bike shop was scary. I would have much-preferred disc brakes. I'm starting to see why most are now coming with disc brakes as standard.

I was pleasantly surprised with the brakes. The shifting will take some time to get used to as I’ve spent so much time riding fixed gears and internal gear hubs bikes. The Sram thumb shifters aren’t the most user friendly things I’ve ever used.

stickers.jpg I had some extra wood, so I added a wooden plank to my frame triangle on my fat bike. Now I can add a bunch of stickers. I also added some handlebars with 4" rise to make it a little more comfortable.

A Saudi Arabia based company(ironically) has invented an electric car that uses bicycle pedals in place of a traditional throttle pedal.
If you want the car to go faster, you must pedal faster. -The idea is to use commuting time as fitness workout time. Pedal resistance is adjustable so you can get a workout that is suitable for your fitness level. -Fitness fans would love this type of throttle, but I don't see it having a lot of appeal to the masses. -I suppose you will need a machine washable drivers seat cover, so that the car will not smell like a locker room. https://newatlas.com/fitcar-accelera...-pedals/56489/

I inherited the anti-gravity box from the guy that built the Coral Castle by himself. This roller only gets ridden in the sand. Its slow, but well suited for it. Anywhere else, I ride my KHS, sans anti-gravity machine.

Looks Wider than most Brooks Seats.
Is the seat extra wide as compared to standard Brooks Seats?

When I first viewed the photo I thought it might be the photo angle that made it look wider, but I thought I should ask to know for sure.
What is the seat cover material made of? Is it leather or a synthetic material? How’s the comfort? |

The top layer is undyed cotton, coated to make it waterproof. Bottom layer is vulcanized rubber. Looks like a fire hose.
Maiden voyage is tomorrow.

Yeah, about that maiden voyage today... Had a bit of a problem on my way to Lake Mills, WI this morning. Hit a rough stretch of US14 north of Darien, WI and one of the straps holding the bike to the rack broke loose. The rear of the frame slid back off the rack and dropped to the pavement. So far, need to replace the tire and tube. If I can't true the wobble out of the rim, that will need to be replaced, too. To add insult to injury, it poured the entire ride home. Note to self. The oil skin Drover coat will keep you dry but won't keep you warm.
